Roadtrips- The road or the destination?

As a kid, I used to hate roadtrips. Up here in the hills, the only means of transport is by auto(car, bus, truck whatever) and I got carsick-everytime! Never mind the loong journey. It's no fun at all when you're puking every five miles or less! As I grew older,I guess I either adjusted or my stomach improved. Either way, I got to understand the appeal of travelling through the long, winding roads. And the view! oftentimes I wish i had a really good camera to capture the breathtaking scenery of the hills. but no camera, how good, cannot describe the feeling of exhilaration as you travel up and down, through the winding and dusty roads and you see such glorious panaroma. The air is clean and fresh, nothing like the muggy city air. The hills stretch out before you with villages and towns on top of certain places. spring ,summer or winter the view always takes my breath away. granted, there are a lot of places more beautiful than Mizoram, but it's home and it's special.
Of course, we ultimately reach our destination, greet long-distance family and get introduced to a whole lot of people. My family is large and scattered all over. guests are invited to breakfast, tea, dinner, all through our stay. It's safe to say we hardly eat at one place throughout our visits! Everyone generally enjoys these times. Except me. I'm an odd duck. As soon as we've arrived, I'm itching to get back on the road. Silly, don't you think? And to think I'm the same girl my family used to drag screaming to take even a short trip to anywhere by car!

It is funny how our tastes change when we become adults. I like the road really well, especially when traveling with my husband.
