Do you do your taxes on time?

Yes, we are entering tax time again. I usually pay a local guy to do my taxes but I do it before the deadline but not way before. The issue with mine is most years I owe them money, and once you submit your taxes you start owing interest. I have a friend who haven't done their taxes for the last 3 or 4 years. I am shocked the government hasn't stalked them down.

Most people here are taxed direct (PAYE) so we don't do tax returns. Self employed people do but employed people don't.

I would love that! I think it is a money grab, you pay someone $60 to file it with the government.

Eek, is your friend planning to pay anytime soon or want to get caught! I haven't gotten all my paperwork yet, but once I do - I usually wait about a month. I go to a preparation tax place for my taxes.

That is what I said. I always get mine put in before time, and get it paid usually within reason. She doesn't seem to see the issues, but then she is rather immature.

@ricki_911 I would be afraid even being late let alone not filing at all!

I always do my taxes on time. Most people in Australia actually get a refund at tax time so we do it as soon as possible!

We file ours as soon as we get all the forms.
