My Weight Loss Journey 1/27/16

It's been a difficult 3 weeks dieting. The first 3 days, I lost 9 pounds and I was feeling extremely weak and tired. I knew that I was losing weight too fast. I had originally set my calories at 1200. So, I decided to move it up to 1500 calories. I knew that upping my calories could possibly make me gain a little weight in the beginning and it did. Then I ended up getting the flu last week which threw a wrench in everything. Also, my doctor changed up my medication a little and the medication he changed was one that can cause weight gain. But I haven't given up and once I started feeling better, I went back to watching what I ate. I got on the scale this morning and I have lost a total of 7.8 pounds. I know it's not a lot for 3 weeks but considering all the obstacles, I am happy with that. I have decided that Wednesday will be my weigh in day and I will post myLot as a way of being accountable.

I think it's better to slow down, but not to feel deprived.

@simone10 Cutting too many calories is not good, 1200 are enough for me, but I never ate too much.

@LadyDuck I think with me, due to all the medication I am on, 1500 works best. I just can't keep losing so much weight like I did when it was 1200.

I think slower it better also. I don't know what made me try 1200 calories instead of 1500 calories. 1200 just wasn't enough calories for me.

I think that's a pretty good loss in 3 weeks. It will be a motivator for you if you 'weigh in' here every week.

I missed writing here for my last weigh in. I lost another pound so although it is slower, I am happy with that.

Hey I would take it! I am getting ready to start a diet...but I decided to wait until after Superbowl Sunday...We had a big snowstorm here and I was not into eating cold foods, as most of this diet contains primarily those.

That is a great amount for 3 weeks. I have only lost around 8 lbs in 3 months lolz I know medicine has an effect on my weight too and it is an uphill battle. I think 1200 calories is too low for me. So I try to stick around 1500-1600 a day. Congrats to you friend.

yes, I think 1200 is too low for me also. I have changed it to 1500 and I'm feeling a lot better.

Good luck on your weight loss. I also am working for it. Make sure you do it slowly but surely without really sacrificing your health.

@PainsOnSlate yes, it really does get easier. There are times when I am tempted but I find that if I eat a piece of fruit, the craving goes away.

I'm sure that most of that was water weight but at least I'm not carrying it around anymore. It's coming off slower now but that's a good thing.

@fishtiger58 Thanks! That's why I changed my calorie intake to 1500. 1200 was just too low for me and I was losing weight too fast.

I can't imagine losing 9 pounds in 3 days. I was a bit overweight when I was in high school, and it was so difficult for me to lose even 1 kg. Perhaps I didn't spend much time in doing exercises and changing my diet. I think it's good to do it slow and healthy, and you did very good! Keep going and I hope you'll meet your goal soon.
