Night Writer Benefits

Its almost midnight and sleep eludes me again, this time not because I am troubled, but rather because of my excitement of the day replaying over in my mind. I had my first Lawn Bowling Club Ladies Singles playoff today - and I WON! So I find myself a little bewildered and in a kind of Happy/sad mood - I had to play one of my mentor's who is 22 years my senior. The game was good and I achieved a great wining total, but felt rather sad to beat her. Have you ever felt like that? almost like 'winning is such sweet sorrow' ? The nice thing about writing at this time of night, is that I get to have live responses with all my USA friends - that is a BONUS for sure. So while I am still awake - tantalize me with your writings, let me read till I fall asleep . . . .

I'm so happy for you winning the lawn bowling playoff. That's quite an achievement. I can see how beating your mentor would make it feel less so. I don't know if I have anything tantalizing to read.

I felt quite awful trying to be happy about my win and everyone was congratulating me - it was very strange

I have a very strong urge to get at my writing but I've also got a strong urge to get more sleep. I went to bed an hour earlier last night and still didn't wake up until 11:30am. I think it's the fatigue that is keeping me from writing but with my illness, there is never enough sleep.

@Inlemay Add in exercise too. I'm still putting in 25-30 minutes a day on the treadmill.

Congratulations! You should feel proud of yourself. But you're right, sometimes we don't feel the same way because of other people.

Good night to you too. I was and still am a night person myself. The reason is simple really: night time is quiet and you can hear yourself think without any distraction. You can also focus and write without any interruptions. Of course you cannot live your whole lifetime at night but once in a while I enjoy it and take full advantage of it.

well I hope she is proud rather than annoyed. I did play well even if I must say so myself.

I never stay up late in the night, but when I start to interact at 6 in the morning there are still plenty of users from the West Coast.

Congratulations, but I understand how you feel. My father taught me to swim, and I remember the first time I beat him in a race - I felt a bit guilty about it. And no, he didn't let me win, I was pretty quick in those days.

My TV is on the blink tonight so I have posted quite a bit of things, but no one seems to be interested in what I'm writing. The box that we just got from the cable company has to be replaced. So, the service guy is coming tomorrow morning to replace it. Makes me have to get up early which I hate, but I will. I don't watch that many TV programs but I do watch movies and the TV right now won't even let me do that.

Most of the writers find night time as the comfortable time for writing.
