I am so excited about it. Though no one can replace the originals, I am looking forward to the live show. I saw The Sound of Music Live which got mixed reviews (those are my top two favourite movies of all time) but I liked it. I didn't like that they skipped a couple of scenes but understand why they had to do it.
I saw Peter Pan Live and that was terrible. Christopher Walken was a joke.
The Wiz Live was so totally awesome! I'd never seen the show so that might have been part of my enjoyable experience, but it did get nominated for a Golden Globe so I'm not the only one who thought it was great.
I hope Grease is just as wonderful as Wiz was (I never saw Grease 2 because I knew it wouldn't be the same without Travolta and Olivia).
Will you be watching?

@T_gray There are different shows. I think Tiny House Nation is the one where they build the houses. There is also a show simply called Tiny Houses where people shop for Tiny Houses. They are shown three and pick one to buy and live in. There was a marathon over the holidays. I think it lasted 3 days. I've seen enough Tiny Houses for now. LOL!

I am too used to the original, so this one won't cut it for me. I liked the Wiz, but still prefer the Wizard of Oz. Sometimes I wish they would not do a remake, it is never quite the same.

@patgalca It will probably be good, but while it is showing, I still do comparisons of how it was. I don't know what I will enjoy it like the original, I know I didn't like the remake of the Sound of music, but yet I enjoyed the version in our community play house.

I'm excited for it. I had mixed emotions about The Sound of Music Live. Carrie Underwood did great with the songs, but her acting wasn't the greatest and I knew it wouldn't be because, let's face it, she's not an actress. Plus she had no chemistry with the captain and he was too young to play the part. So I liked parts of it.
I actually did enjoy Grease 2 for what it was. The original will always be the best, but the sequel had some good songs and some good acting, so I didn't hate it.
I really do hope Grease Live does the film justice. Plus I'm excited to see Vanessa Hudgens as Rizzo in this. Stockard Channing was really too old to play the part of a high schooler, which I know they were all adults but still lol. I am excited!

I concur about Sound of Music Live. Carrie Underwood is not an actress. To be fair, it was also the very first attempt at doing a live movie on television. Peter Pan was worse but The Wiz was awesome. Hopefully Grease will nail it.

@DanieGirl80587 I'm sure it will air again. The Sound of Music Live just aired again recently.

@JDDANGER I wish I had thought to record it. I thought I would be a bit disappointed because I loved the movie but I was excited and crying and laughing through it all.
I think the reason I loved The Whiz Life so much was because I had never seen it. But this production was over the top with pristine camera work and efficient transfers from one stage to another. I loved the way Julianne Hough got so excited at the end that she jumped up and down screaming before it was completely finished. Every girl's dream was to play that role and she nailed it.
