Day 3 – Assessment Nehemiah 2:9-20 Whenever someone begins a project, large or small, they do an assessment to determine the feasibility of the work they want to do. All projects require work permits, given only after the project has gone through a thorough assessment of what is planned and what the project’s intentions are. Deciding to build a home, doesn’t take as much assessment as a mall, yet the land set aside for the project must be evaluated to determine whether a home can be built on the land, or a mall will be valuable for the area where it will be built. Nehemiah arrived in Jerusalem to the dismay of Tobiah the Ammonite, Sanballat the Horonite, and Geshem the Arabian who had already come against the people because they wanted to rebuild the temple. After three days, Nehemiah went by night to assess the walls and gates of Jerusalem and determine the work that needed to be done. He did so without telling anyone his intention until after he had made a complete assessment of the work that needed doing. He went to the rulers and nobles of Judah and told them what God put on his heart and how the king of Persia sent him to do the work God set him to do. When God gives us work to do, we need to do as Nehemiah did, evaluate the work to determine what is necessary to get the job done, and when opposition comes our way, stand up to it and proclaim that God will see the work accomplished. Let’s pray: Father, help me assess the work You have given me to do and prepare the materials needed to do what You put on my heart to do. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. It is wise to plan and assess things before making a decision. Good topic.

If you don't have a plan, more than likely nothing will be accomplished.
