Though the English language has influenced the whole world it's widely classified as American English and British English. In writing, the differences are seen obviously.
The omission of the letter 'u' in many words is one of most significant changes that is found in American English. Usage of words, pronunciations, and spelling are the major differences we can see.
What are the differences you personally observe between American English and British English?

There's English then there's other forms of lower class English sometimes described as American English.
English is the best language whilst American is some form of colonial nonsense

Within American English, there is the Regular Standard English that those up North and out West speak. And those up North have a Northern Twang in their speech. Then there is the Southern English that many folks here in the South speak.
I was born and raised in the South and one year, I spent up North while attending a College and so many of the students from up North said that I had a Southern Accent. I never really thought I had one until they said that.

Aside from the accents, some words means different between those 2 countries.
When you say biscuit, Americans will think about those soft fluffy breads they pair with gravy and savory dishes.
When You say biscuit, The British will think about sweet cookies.

There's a whole lot of words that have same meanings but are different like diapers in America and nappies in English. I love the bantering going on here. And there are some words lest to mentioned because i learned it from some per*erted English men. I'm sorry guys but it's just some not here.

Removal of u from many words was a great spelling reformation introduced by Webster. In America, 'tyre' is spelled as 'tire'.
