I have this friend, who time and time again has called music a religious experience for her. Her passion for music got me thinking about what music means to me I grew up listening to the radio and I have always wanted to somehow be involved in the broadcasting industry but I have never really felt a deep connection to music. Certainly not enough to consider it anything religious My question to you is...what does music mean to you?

I have played the guitar for three years and still, music leaves a tingling sensation in my chest. Especially when I play with a band, it makes me happy when different notes from different sources resonate into a single harmony. I think it would help if you try playing an instrument, any instrument, to make a deeper connection with music. Or you could try listening to a song and savor each note, instrument and voice.

I have always wanted to play guitar. I was just thinking today about a time a few years back when I went to visit a friend of mine and she pulled out her guitar and played a few songs she had written for us. That was a day that really made me smile I also really enjoy live music

@JDDANGER Glad to know someone here who has an interest in playing the guitar. Is this friend of yours the same friend you wrote in the discussion?

This is not an easy question to me and I have not thought about it before. To me, it's a natural thing, it's just like the wind blowing, there is always music around us, whether or not we are aware of it. Now, I am hearing the birds chirping in the backyard, it's beautiful music. I can also hear the sound made by the fan, it's another kind of music.

I would equate music with breathing for me. No music, no life.

that sounds a lot like how my friend feels about music. It always makes me smile to hear her talk with so much passion about music
