Last night, just before retiring for the night I saw this challenge. I knew right away this was one I could participate in.
When writing on Mylot, I am generally using my iPad . This means, unless I've got the photo saved to my iPad, there are no photos.
Whenever I see a particularly breathtaking sunrise or sunset, my camera comes out. Somehow, very few of the photographs do justice to Gods handiwork.
This sunrise photo was taken about a year ago. The panorama changed every minute. It was a display to just stand and watch

That is very beautiful. I don't often get pictures of the sun rising but I can get pictures of it setting as I wake up just minutes before it completes.

@ScribbledAdNauseum , You mean you wake up minutes before the sun is setting?

@silvermist I work third shift so yes, I wake up minutes before it sets. Sometimes I don't wake up until after it sets, atleast in the winter.

I am always up at 5:30 AM. In the winter, when the sun doesn't rise until after 7 I can watch many beautiful sunrises.

It was one of those sunrises that you could stand and watch the brilliant display. My niece was about 20 miles north viewing the same sunrise. Her first picture was similar to mine. Her second showed a brooding, menacing sky.

In the winter I don't have to get up early to see a sunrise.

Very pretty! I don't often see the sun rise in the morning. I love the colors along with the snow.

I can just stand and watch. From time to time I'll pull out my camera and try to capture a taste of it.

@Morleyhunt , that golden ball of the sun rising with the black of the trees, and the bluish tint to the white of the snow, is just glorious!

It was a spectacular sunrise. I wish I had had the equipment and the talent to capture the changing colours and moods of that sunrise.

Auto correct and everything about this iPad keypad is conspiring against me. I can't find my stylus.
