Coffee has some health benefits and some drawbacks. Studies show that caffeine can delay the Alzheimer’s disease and it can prevent clogged arteries that could lead to heart attacks. The drawbacks, the caffeine can be addictive and it can increase the heart rate and the blood pressure. Let's say that in general there are more good news than bad for coffee drinkers. The world's best coffees come from: Hawaii - the Kona Mexico Colombia Brazil - this is the world largest producer. Ethiopia Kenya Jamaica - the famous Blue Mountain As a curiosity, there is a coffee called "Death Wish Coffee", considered the strongest in the world. One of my favorite is the Colombian coffee, not too strong and pretty mild.

I have read that as long as the caffeine doesn't bother you 6 cups or more is optimal. It can reduce other health problems such as I think I read cutting down you risk of Parkinson's by up to 40 %

It's what I have read too, I do not drink 6 cups a day, but most of the time 4.

@LadyDuck Since doing that research for a post I did long ago, I have made it a point to have at least 6 cups and often times more than that.

I also like the Colombian Anna. It is my favorite. It is a tad bit expensive tho if you want the good stuff here, so I usually cant afford it. I used to drink it all the time. No ill side effects for me from my beloved coffee.

Though I always loved coffee, in my late twenties, I started to have a problem with coffee as I get a bad case of heartburn when I drink it. Though I do enjoy smelling the coffee, I no longer drink it.

@LadyDuck Maybe I shuld try it again one day but I'm too scared as the last time I had to go to the hospital thinking I was having a heart attack. Tonight I visited a friend and I was given peppermint ten and it was pretty good.

No, the best coffee comes from Asia. It is the civet coffee, which means the coffee beans are eaten by the civets, and then collected from the dung of the civets.

The kopi luwak from Indonesia is a very expensive coffee, but it does not figure among "the best". It's not because something is expensive that is very good.

@LadyDuck , I make this at home, I buy it grounded and make it. I have also taken my thermos and had them fill it with coffee, when I am on the road, if I stop in a Starbucks.

@valmnz I have discovered an amazing bar in Milan, the barista is a coffee maniac, he makes the best coffee I have ever drink. He import coffee from different countries of the world, roast it and you can select the variety you want to try. I would go there every day just to drink coffee.

If the beans are big, not too dark and with a mild taste, they are possibly imported from South America. The African coffee beans are smaller and darker.

I am a coffee lover and believe in the health benefits of coffee. My doctor has assured me that only a couple of cups a day, while good for me, won't have any bad effect on my blood pressure.

I would not say you were in the minority... I had some stats somewhere, I wonder if I can lay my hands on'em and share here .. In the UK, typically atypical from the rest of Europe, tea is the winner:

I like strong coffee and Colombian is good as well as Ethiopia - I have had the famous Java coffee -Kopi luwak which is one of the most expensive coffees in the world, selling for between US$100 and $600 per pound - cant say it was fabulous - I love Italian coffee too.

I started drinking coffee when my son was about a year and a half. I was so tired all the time. I should have been taking iron pills for anemia my whole life and if I had I likely never would had gotten this coffee addiction.

Not a fan of coffee but I have learned to drink a cup or two here in the office. Had kopi luwak the other night. Wasn't that impressed with the taste. Considering how it was produced, I'm surprised why it costs so much.

I drink half caffeine coffee as I can no longer handle the real stuff. It gives me the jitters and anxiety. I love hazelnut creamer in mine but I don't drink it very often as its high in calories. I do drink energy drinks before I do my exercises as it gives me a boost to do my exercises more briskly.
