Almost Made a Big Mistake

I like to sell things on Ebay but do it as a hobby not as an income I can depend on.
The other day I listed a few books and one sold yesterday afternoon. I packed it up and was going to put it in the mailbox but decided to wait until this morning. When I checked my Ebay site I found another book had sold.
As I was packaging up that book I realized that the other book I had packaged was still listed. Checking more carefully I realized I had the wrong book ready to mail and thankfully was able to get the right book in the package.
What a big mistake that would have been not only for me but for the person getting the wrong book.
Oy Vey....I've been distracted and it goes to show that when you don't pay attention mistakes are easily made. At least I didn't mail it yesterday and I guess my Guardian Angel knew I had made a mistake.
Whew!! thank goodness I caught it in time

I too would like to get rid of stuff that I do not want - all in excellent condition but the rigmarole of all that is needed to be done puts me off.

@Marilynda1225 I agree with you. I must get over this thought of not wanting to go through the rigmarole (lol)

Sometimes it's worth a little rigmarole to make a few dollars selling things

glad you spotted the error in time - the customer might not have appreciated the wrong item

I'm sure the customer would have been very disappointed in the wrong book

It would have been a hassle to send the correct book and have them send back the mistake. Thank goodness I caught it in time

I've sold a few books on Amazon, but never considered Ebay. Does it work pretty well for you?

I'm glad you found your mistake, there is very little room for mistakes in business more so on an online one where it's impersonal and people would just like to get what they pay for and always consider the time they have to wait to receive the item. A negative strike would have affected your reputation and would make it a little more difficult to sell next time

That's fortunate you were able to catch the mistake. Glad you were able to mail the right one. These things happen more than you think. I was shipped the wrong camera off of ebay. Turned out it didn't work anyway so I was told to throw it away and they gave me the money back.

I sell on ebay as well, I don't think I have ever done that. Good thing you waited.
