Update On Wetnosedogs - Message From Her Daughter

In my last post I told you how worried I was about @Wetnosedogs, as she hadn't been active here for a few months. It turns out that she had a brain aneurysm in November, and a lot of you were kind enough to respond and wish her well, and I sent the link of that post to her daughter via the PM on her page here.
Here is the reply from her daughter:
''Hi, Thank you so much! My mom read the messages, your article and the comments that had been posted yesterday and she was so touched! She was not ready yet to respond on her own but I told her that I would be checking in to give you guys updates.
Due to the pressure on her brain stem from the aneurysm she had lost most of her use of her right side. She is working on getting her strength back on her right side, so I think typing on the laptop may be a bit much right now.
She does get frustrated that she can't do some things that used to come so easy, but then I remind her that it will all come back with time and hard work. I will continue to take her laptop to her so she can read the messages though, they really brighten her day.
She loved that you asked about her dogs. Her 3 dogs have been keeping our dog company at our house. :) Our dog will be happy when she can have her space back to herself, but they are all doing great. Needless to say, it will be very quiet when her dogs make it back home.
Thank you again for everything and let everyone know that my mom is reading all of their messages, she loves hearing from everyone and will respond when she can. :)''

One of the things I have always loved about this site is that members keep track of each other, and care for each other. I did not see your original post, but I do send my best to @wetnosedogs.

@GardenGerty I did the brief resume at the top of the post in case anyone hadn't seen the first one. You are right - we do care for each other, and the PM system here is great. We wouldn't have known what had happened without it.

Way back when I joined Bubblews I connected with everyone that connected with me, only to discover the amount of work it created. When I joined Mylot I was much more discriminating about who I followed. Now I'm finding that I didn't actually end up following the very ones I want to connect with. We've been working at correcting this for the last few days.

@Morleyhunt Yes, I'm picky too, but as you say some decent people get left out unintentionally.

I'm praying she regains the use of her right side and I didn't ask about the wetnoses because I knew her daughter would have taken care of them. Like mother like daughter you know.
I don't know if she remembers my two furbabies, but I used to use this ICON which she may remember.

If she's in the hospital then of course @jaboUK but I get the feeling her daughter is a lot like her and as soon as she can will have her mom there with her so she can be with her wetnoses more often.
My heart goes out to her wetnoses too, they must be so worried about their momma.

The strength of this site is the caring relationships that develop here. You have shown you're right up there at the top of the caring list. How wonderful that you've enabled @Wetnosedogs to continue being part of this community while she recovers.

@jaboUK My mom had a stroke years ago and her side was totally paralyzed. While she was in the hospital and then eventually rehab, I use to take her out of the room in a wheel chair and bring her to the therapy room. I would bounce a ball to her and ask her to hit it back to me. She did that a little and then after 3 plus months, she went home and I brought some games went I visited, anything to keep her amused.
I also put the wheel chair up to the organ as she use to play. I also tried to show her how to write on a computer so she could send me or my sister a message but she never caught on with any of that.
I bought her a small cd and radio combo and got her some tapes of Frank Sinatra and many others from her days.
Being I lived 2 hours away I had my dad put the cd's on in the morning abut he never remembered to change them.

@ramapo17 Another good thing for my mom was hanging pictures on the wall in the hospital room of the entire family and things she liked. I would alternate them each time I visited so she would move her head.
One other thing I did was bring a notebook and pen or pencil to her so she could write if she wanted to or just draw. I did anything and everything I could think of so she wouldn't get bored.
I found a notebook a few months ago that I had her write in and she did know who we were.
The biggest challenge for us was she also had alztheimers and would sometimes get very mean. Her moods flipped all the time. She had the alztheimers before the stroke but the beginning of it. The stroke brought it out full force.

I am not sure who she is, but that's very sad. My aunt had one in 1989 and I know what she went thru.

To @wetnosedogs from @nanette64,
before you know it, you'll be out the door.
Back to normal and at full speed,
don't forget that rest is a need.
We've got your back, so if you need anything,
give us a holler and make the phone ring.
Your doggies are fine, your daughter is there,
she'll keep us updated which we will share.
Thank you for the latest info @jaboUK .

I am glad your mum is recovering. My disabled Dad is delighted now he has a tablet. I wonder if that would be a good choice for Wetnosedogs just now? (Dad is even more severely disabled.) I do hope you are able to take the dogs to see her and am glad tgry are well looked after.
Just want to say I know this will all have been hard on her daughter too and I want to acknowledge that. Clise relatives who care can often need encouragement.

that is so sweet of her daughter to share us how she is. If she has absent movement on her right side, probably the aneurysm was from her left side. I wish her well. Thanks for updating us.
