Getting started on yet another website from an Epinions refugee.

It's been a frustrating time in the last two years. I've been wandering from site to site here in the Internet, only to have the site collapse over time. Previously, I had enjoyed a long and happy time at Epinions, sharpening my writing and meeting some really fantastic people. While the money was damn handy, it's the people who I really miss.
Anyhow, who am I?
I'm in my mid fifties, in a relationship (so don't even bother, please), and I love nattering on about my cats, books, tea, good food, history, art and travel. Most of what I write about are books, and the occansonal movie or television series. I'll try and post photos as I can.
If you are from the late sites, Epinions or Personapaper, please drop me a line and let me know. I also hang out at Goodreads as well.

Welcome aboard. I wasn't a member of any of those sites, though I do have an account with Goodreads but not as a person who blogs. I tried to post a summary of my book a few years ago but ran into trouble doing so. They charge a fee. So I haven't been back to the site.

@Telynor I have three of them now, and a fourth I'm working on in the same series. The fourth is the last. The first is Scarred, Manifest Destiny, and Stowaway. The last in the series is Freedom's Cry. Hopefully I'll be able to get it out this year yet.
I forgot to mention I'm a Bubblews refugee.

@just4him Thank you for the titles, I will go and look them up. I have immense respect for those who publish their books -- it's not an easy road at all. Bubblews was fine at first, but they went haywire about six months ago, so that was a bust.

Welcome to MyLot. I'm not sure about Epinions members: I haven't seen the site mentioned recently, however there are several who are coming here from PP and many here from Bubblews (if you were a member there). In general, however, I think you'll find MyLot to be a friendly and lively site. Enjoy and have fun!

I am a PP refugee--good to see other PPers here as well--I write poetry on other sites and have been lucky enough to have some of my work published--there are a lot of old writing friends here!

Sometimes people from other sites, especially writing sites, have a difficult time adapting here at first. This is a social website where you get paid for discussing and interacting, which is different than most of the writing sites. If you have any problems after you have read the links provided by Mike and Owl, then just ask us, because there are many of us who have been here for years and are more than happy to help.
