The Singing Pilgrim

Sometimes I just jabber when my mind is occupied or overtaxed. Sometimes my jabbering comes out in snatches of musical blathering.
And so I began this morning, warbling "oh my, oh my, who put gin in the pie?"
This caused The Man to look at me quizzically.
"It's an old song the Pilgrims used to sing", I told him.
Which got me to wondering whether or not the Pilgrims did sing. I mean, they were very austere and no-nonsense kind of people. I am sure they would never sing silly songs about gin in the pie.
But my research confirms that they did like to sing, though they didn't have much in the way of musical instruments (usually just a drum to call the village to a meeting). They mostly sang psalms and such, but they did like to sing.
But I bet there was at least one crazy person who occasionally sang nonsense songs to herself when no one was around, there's always one in every crowd.
Do you sing when no one is around?

Yes I do and me and hubs even sing back and forth at each other. He will sing a verse and wait for me to respond and sometimes my mind is somewhere else, it is funny!!

I sometimes sing in the car when there is a song that I like on the radio. It used to embarrass my daughter when she was younger.

@Rollo1 This is true. Unless you are listening to rap or heavy metal, then you might actually go after them.

I sing when I'm in the kitchen but mostly they are our traditional songs. Sometimes I break into senseless songs when I'm extremely stressed.
