Winter in Wisconsin

We've been very fortunate this winter to not have a typical Wisconsin winter.
While we did have a 'white Christmas' it was a slight covering on the ground, not like our usual 6 or 8 inches thick.
El Nino has been helpful in keeping the Midwest a bit warmer than usual although this week is a chilly one.
Last week we had a good (or bad depending on your feelings) snowstorm and got about 8" of snow and it has been cold enough to keep the snow in place. This week our highest temperature is 14 F. so we have to bundle up a bit to go out.
What is your weather like? Do you prefer the heat or the cold? I'm ready for spring even though it hasn't been a horrible winter. I'm ready to get outside and play in my new yard.

Here in NC winter has been a roller coaster ride. Dec. we set record high's 68-70's most of the month. But then old man winter reminded us in Jan. it is indeed winter and gave us a good snow sleet storm near my birthday. I enjoyed it as I grew up in PA and almost always had a white birthday. Feb. has been up and down, first few days warmer mid 60's but now we struggle to get to 30 and their calling for another winter storm Monday in to Tuesday next week. I hope so, would love to see some more before spring arrives. Have a blessed day

@enlightenedpsych2 You hit the nail on the head. Humidity does get on my nerves. Summers are so hot here. I'm an April baby. So I'm attached to summers though :) October to February, the weather is good.

We only had a trace of snow on the ground all winter, and right now the termperatures are getting into the 450's and 60's. That is really mild for this time of year. I am glad for that too. as I don't like cold weather at all, nor do I like really hot weather. I am hoping the weather stays like this.

I'm originally from Wisconsin (Superior) and am well acquainted with the white fury. I miss the change of seasons, but I don't miss shoveling the snow and I sure don't miss driving through it. And more poor dearly beloved turns into a popsicle when the temps drop below 75. I don't think we'd last long in a temperate area.

We did the opposite...I lived in Southern California most of my life (briefly in Tucson AZ) and then moved to Wisconsin in 2000. I do love it here. The pace is much slower and we're in a small town so it is quiet too. The weather takes some getting used to but I love the changing of the seasons.

@kamel622 I would love to be able to do that. My husband gets cold easily, though and would be miserable. He also doesn't take well to short days. The cold never bothered me as a kid, but then, I was kid.
Of course, I melt when it gets over 100. I wouldn't do well in Tucson. My brother and his family live there. I'm careful to avoid summer visits.

We have about 4 inches of the white crap now. No, we didn't get a lot of snow this year either. Even so, I am ready for spring.
