I love globes, or what some call paperweights. I have several that I absolutely love. And I'm picky about what I buy. It has to catch the eye. I love many colors within the glass globe. Some years ago I gifted my mother in law with a beautiful globe, so colorful with all the swirly colors. When she passed away my husband and his brothers and sister along with their spouses were cleaning out the house. My husband asked me if there was anything I wanted that belonged to his mother. There was one thing. And thankfully all the others said I could have it. The globe I had gotten her many many years before. I was thrilled to have it. I had tried to purchase another a year or so after I got her this one but could never find one quite like it again. I took a Macro shot of it, all the swirly colors and the air bubble caught in the glass. I love it.

That is lovely. It reminds me of the marbles we used to play with as children, though it's obviously a lot better than them.

I do so love the colors and the bubbles. Often times you can't see them good but a macro shot helps with all that. It does resemble the marbles we played with. Thanks so much.

I love to look at all the different globes and the one in the picture is very unusual with all the different colors. I have never seen one like that before.

I haven't since I bought this one at least 10 years ago. I miss my mother in law but am so glad to have this globe.

I have three paper weights that I picked up in special places many years ago. I love the colors and when the sun hits them, so I know where you're coming from.

That does look very beautiful. It is great that it came back to you. Sometimes I can't justify buying something for myself so I'll buy it for my sister. It seems to satisfy me just to buy it. I don't mind that I don't actually own it. It's usually an ornament of some sort.
