My youngest grand just had adenoid surgery today. It was causing problems with his breathing. Most of their waiting was done before he went to surgery. Less than 30 minutes later, he was out. Once he wakes up, they'll go home with instructions for care. He won't be a year old until March. Poor little guy.

I have always wondered how it is that so many children have to go through so much illness? It just doesn't seem logical to me. All my hopes, prayers and wishes for his speedy recovery and the best first year birthday, when it arrives.

I don't know if it was my imagination or if there was some sort of uninvestigated link, but I saw more problems with ear infections and other problems in Utah (where Cooper lives) than I've ever seen anywhere else I've lived. Everybody's kid seemed to have to have tubes in their ears or were treated for some sort of lung or chest infection or suffered a birth defect. Obviously, I don't mean everybody literally, just generally. Still, I don't hear nearly as much here in NJ about those things as I did out there. I don't know if it's me or if they panic over small things easily or if there really is something going on there that isn't going on here. I've often wondered just how much of the open air atomic bomb testing in the 50s and 60s affected the region beyond where they claimed - in the soil, in the water, etc.

@jerzgirl It does make a person wonder, doesn't it? A lot of things have been altered or changed on their own accord, things we know little to nothing about. I guess that is what makes life adapt so it can better survive. Still, it hurts to see children suffer. We can only look to our God to help ease the pain and to ourselves to stay ever vigilant. Take care my friend.
