If you were to travel, where will your destination be?

Today is one of those days were the travel bug is bothering me. It is early in the morning, and the first thing I thought was I wanted to travel. It has been one of my interest to be able to travel to places I have never been to locally and abroad. I have done so in the past when I still have time and extra money to do so but last year was a boring one because I did not get the chance to go out of town so I guess that is why I have been itching to be somewhere else.
At first , I wanted to go to Thailand because I've heard that they have these wonderful beaches and I say it on the televison as well. But overtime, it made me realize that I probably would be seeing the same with what my country has because its a tropical country as well . And so , if given the chance I would choose Japan first and save up a little money to travel to Thailand some other time. Why Japan? Well, personally I think Japan has a very reach culture that I wanted to explore , they are one of the innovators whrn it comes to technology. I even heard that gadgets are very cheap there. I lke japanese food, so there is much to explore with my taste palate. Anoher thing is they have this huge house full of sanrio characters especially Hello kitty that I wanted to visit. Also , I wanted to experience the famous cherry blossoms which is very famous when you talk about Japan.
So, if given the chance to travel, where to you want to go? Do you have the same experience as me where in you just feel that you wanted to somewhere else to unwind or to escape what is routine?

I would say the number one place I would enjoy an extended visit is Australia. So much and to see, do and experience down under.

There are a lot of places I would love to visit if I had the possibility, but if I were to choose only one destination that would be first of all a country that is not from Europe, the continent where I live. There would be several main options on my list, such as Japan, China or US, but ultimately my number one option would be Peru, mostly because one of my dreams is to visit Macchu Pichu, the most amazing citadel I have seen, unfortunately only on TV and Youtube, but there are also other historical sites from the times of the once mighty Inca people that I would absolutely love to explore, and I would also love to fly by plave over the mysterious and wonderful geoglyphs known as the Nazca Lines.

@polaris77 I would also love to visit Peru. Macchu Pichu is part of my travel wish list, and I think that it would be a really interesting place to explore.

I've been to Thailand once before back in 94. It is a beautiful place to go, and with lots of beaches. We went to Phuket Island. and it was very beautiful. I'd love to go back again. But, money is tight around here. So, I guess I will have to wait until I can raise up enough money. Thailand is a beautiful country. You should go one time if you can.

Oh I would love to visit Sagada as well. I was planning to go there last year . It was to be a northern Luzon getaway but my father got sick and that prevented me from pushing through my plans. I am curious how it would be like to be closer to the sky , see the hanging coffins and of course to visit their caves.

@dazzledlady Sagada is a really nice destination. I've been there 3times and yet I still want to go back there again and again. Though the travel is physically tiring, it is all worth it. You got to swim in the falls.

I have not been to Japan, but then I do not have a desire to go there.
I think you have to consider the impact of currencies before you make the final decision.
Now Australia dollar, Canada dollar, and New Zealand dollar are low, you can probably visit these places.

I was hoping I would cover Alaska but after my road accident here I am not confident of travelling.

I enter a lot of contests, especially for vacations. I recently came across a contest for a trip to Hawaii which took me to the website Hawaii.com. There I am exploring all the pages because you need points to enter the contest and there are many ways to collect points. As I scroll through the website and see all the pictures of Hawaii I definitely would go there again in a heart beat. Like, now.

There so many places that I would like to visit, and it is really hard to pick one place or a few places I live in Europe and I have visited most of the other European countries, but I would to visit the countries where I haven't been yet for instance Portugal and Ireland. I would also love to return to Asia. I want to visit China, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Burma (Myanmar), India and Nepal.
