See this picture? It's my new insulated garage.I got the insulation for free too! (Well, sort of). I had a bad business deal turn for the better after an owner to a brand new store lied to me. Ever heard of the line, "If life gives you lemons.."?
Never had too many problems with craigslist until recently. We were looking for insulated board and came across a picture of a lot of free board, as well as materials to build a heating unit for a house. After I made an arrangement, me and my working buddy showed up, just to realize that the man lied. Nothing in the picture was in the building.
So he said that if we took ALL of the insulated duct lines, we can have the metal. We agreed. One thing though. We had to move the insulation first. After 5 truck loads, we came back to find out that he didn't keep his promise. He locked the door behind us, but not without us getting a load of metal first. He even stopped me from grabbing precious wires and metals.
So with 5 loads of insulated ducts, I decided to cut them in half and wala!!!
A brand new insulated garage. Didn't take long, either, because they fit perfect between the boards.

You are right! I have seen this expression cited "and wala" elsewhere too.
A "wallah" was a term for a servant in the time of the British Empire, so a "dhobiwallah" was the laundry servant, a "charwallah" the tea servant, and a "punkawallah" the guy that pulled the rope to keep the fan moving to provide a cooling breeze...

Wow, that con man sure deserves to get his azz beaten. There's always that risk involved with online meet ups. You are the better person because you were smart enough to turn the situation around.

Yeah, but this is the part where I walk away and let him catch his in the end. The metal i did get out came in handy to build a furnace inside a clients house. We were able to keep all the money, since we had the materials. The garage is warmer too....lol
