Lunch with our son

This morning our son called and asked if we wanted to meet him for lunch. I love when that happens! He is a great young man and I am so proud to be his mom. He works different days of the week, not a set schedule so never sure when he is off. He also works a lot of hours as does his wife. We went to Perkins, which is where his wife is manager and then we get to see her as well. I had a tasty burger, hubby had a double patty melt and of course we had great conversation as well. Our son is the youngest of our four living children and the only boy as well. He has always been such a joy and I was happy to get to meet him for lunch today.

Is that you with your son in the photo? It's a great shot. It's always great to spend time with our children no matter how old they are.

@jaboUK Thank you...L'Oreal helps me keep it that way. LOL No problem..it is often hard to tell in pictures and she is a few years older than him too.

Nice that you got to spend some time with your son. My son, his wife and their five children were at my house for supper on Thursday evening.

This picture made me happy sort of sad today, I was relating to myself cause my eldest son is graduating college next year and probably would be ready to leave us in a few years, I'm so happy for you and you sort of gave me a glimpse of what to expect and what it would be like in the future

It is hard when they leave us, but as they grew up I kept reminding myself that they were only 'on loan' for a little bit.

@kamel622 yes and we start looking at their pictures when they were little, so vulnerable that they needed us then suddenly here they are all towering over us, giving us a sense of pride to what they had become

So wonderful when your grown kids want to spend a meal with you. Today before my son goes to work we are going shopping to get his girlfriend something for Valentines Day. My son still lives here so I get to see him which brings me joy. My younger son is away at college so we don't get to see him nearly enough. That's life I guess.

I know...it is hard when they are grown and away from us. Our oldest daughter moved across country and I really hated it...enough that we ended up moving to Wisconsin..AND all of our grown kids did too!

@kamel622 My youngest is in college 250 miles away. Other than his family there is nothing here for him as he is getting his PhD in Astrophysics and will have to go elsewhere for work.
