Not everyone needs a job

When I listen to the conversation of my bosses and colleagues, I realize that my mentality is very different from them. I used to think in the same way. I used to think that everyone needs a job to make a living. That is before I realize that there is an investing world. In the world of investing, people do not have the mindset that you need a job to make a living. The world of investing creates many billionaires and millionaires who create jobs, and they are immune to the problems of the common folks. They do not need a job, and they do not fear that they will not have the money to pay their debt. Now that I have a glimpse of the investing world, I am not satisfied with my mentality of jobs and careers. I want to be financially free, and savvy in investment, so that I will not need a job anymore.

In order to invest, you need money. In order to have money, you still need a job. It's a long process especially if you only have your job as a source of income.

One of the richest guys in my country took on 2 jobs when he was young and poor. He had a day job, and he drove taxi at night and on weekend. Now he is so rich that everyone knows about him, though not many know or care about his past. It has to do with determination, and his desire to get rich through investment.

agree with you @cherriefic as much as people want to invest, we still have to work because we need money for the investment. and if this money is our only source of income it is hard to save and so the cycle went on and on.

Investing is wise. You're correct that everyone needs or will work on a job. There's so many ways to generate revenue. Investing is a great avenue that can create financial freedom.

US is certainly a good place for great investors. I think if Warren Buffet is not in US, he will not achieve the same kind of success from investing.

@anh101 Not true. This just shows that you do not have any knowledge about investment, and you are bias about it. I have read the newspapers in Vietnam, and I can see that the investment knowledge is rather advanced. I can understand the points that the reporters are making, and I can see that they are rather well versed about investments too.

Dreaming is a start, but until you can put the actions on a paper, and act accordingly, there is no way for you to achieve your dream. You must have a concrete plan, such as save up 1000 peso to buy shares, and keep on doing that when you have 1000 pesos.

If you can work as an insurance agent, that is a first step to meet a lot of rich people, and you get to make money too. If you work in a bank, that is a good start too.

Actually, investing is work, just not the type most think about. his is what I do, and sometimes, I wished I had a, "regular" job.

True, trading and investing are brain work. Often the difficulty is in controlling our emotions. I think you are more of a trader than an investor. It is hard for an investor to fill time if he is not working on a regular full time job. Investing is more passive than trading.

You have to start at the bottom to reach the top.So basically you need a job to do that or start having a small business.

The investment needs to spend a long time and probably to gain some profits. If you want to have a big profit, then the time will be even longer. And of course the high profit brings the high risk, too. So it is not easy.

Investing is not for high profit. It is for consistent profit, similar to the way that people buy office and rent it out or buy a house and rent it out. The consistent income is the reason for investing.

Wow, they are really good examples. I think they could have retired much earlier if they do not want to work. This is a good example for the rest of the families to follow.

@SIMPLYD Their investment income must be great enough to fund the college fees of the children. The thing about investment is that as time goes on, the portfolio gets bigger and bigger, and the income gets bigger and bigger.

True. I left my job to try new things. I heard of someone selling peanuts who became rich but no employee can be rich until they start and succeed in investing or business. :)

Some of the richest persons in your country started off dirt poor. You just have to learn and think in term of business opportunities. There are opportunities to get rich everywhere.
