An eye for detail

When my husband realized I'd bought a Valentine card from the same shop he'd used, he started to worry that we'd both bought the same one. He seemed relieved when I handed him a white rectangular envelope, while the one he gave me was red and square. Reading his card, hubby was very pleased. I opened mine, and said I'd never have chosen that one for him. "Why not?" he asked. "I think it's lovely." "It is lovely," I assured him, then pointed out it read, "For my wife." He hadn't even noticed!

It was sweet, He was so taken with the illustration of a teddy bear and the words inside the card, he hadn't noticed the "wife" bit.

Surely the whole logic behind Valentine cards is that they're anonymous? Buying one that has "For my Wife" or "To a super Husband" seems to defeat the purpose... Glad your cards were different!

I guess the original Valentine cards were anonymous. I never did find out who sent me my first ever, when I was 14.
