In lieu of Valentine's Dinner + Flowers + Gifts, We went Shopping instead!

Happy Valentine's Day, Everyone! In lieu of a romantic overpriced dinner with crowds, double the price for flowers & gifts - My boyfriend and I decided to postpone Valentine's Day to another day. Probably Tuesday or Wednesday maybe? So, we went house decor/house supply shopping instead at Macy's. What we ended up purchasing: - A kettle by Primula that keeps your liquids either warm or cold for long periods of time. We will be using this for tea and a motivation to drink more fluids. - Martha Stewart 4 piece mug set - Martha Stewart 6 piece pasta bowl set - Lacoste Comforter that is hypo-allergic What'd you guys do for Valentine's Day? Or if you don't celebrate - I hope you had a wonderful Sunday! (Just uploaded a photo of the items we purchased, today is 2-17-16)

I do not celebrate Valentine's Day but only because I have no valentine. Of course, I wouldn't want much ado made though. A simple meal , no flowers needed. Glad you were able to make the most of it with shopping instead of overspending on overpriced foods and flowers. Next week things will be just as fresh but cheaper.

No celebrations here. And it was 40 below zero C and so went to my place of worship, went out for half an hour and rushed back home where it is warm. I discovered an interesting series called All About A Boy.

Very nice and practical purchases. You two are a smart couple for avoiding the overly inflated goods on Valentine's day. I had a simple dinner and went for a walk for mine.

Very nice! It's cool that you all decided to get something tangible for Valentine's Day. I know a lot of couples that would choose to go to a fancy restaurant instead, which isn't so tangible. Good for you!

Yes! Fancy restaurants, the wait/crowd, double price in menu (sometimes) - I rather get something else.

We had a nice day. We had had an outdoor concert here on Saturday night so we were a bit tired Sunday and ended up having a nap. It's nice to have a few new things for the house.
