Being Demotivated

This happens all the time when I feel that what ever effort I put, I am not getting the returns for it. At times I really wonder whether "hard work truly pays or not " ! I tend to get demotivate and dont understand how to deal with it. At times it is related to work, at times it is related to personal life. but I would appreciate comments and views from you all , how you people really deal when you people feel demotivated and is there any mental exercise you people do to overcome this ?

I just do what needs to be done and not get bothered about short term returns. Finally, we work for ourselves, to get fulfillment, and to improve ourselves - so never be much concerned with what others think of us. One needs to be patient as life is a a long journey - siva

True sir, I really appreciate your way of thinking. But you are right in mentioning that life indeed is a long journey to be bothered about all this . Thank you :)

A friend of mine starts ever day by looking in the mirror and saying, "I feel good, I feel great, I feel happy." The feeling stay with him all day and everything he does is from the perspective that he is doing it because he wants to and doing it well makes him happy. I have tried to adopt his philosophy and though I have a ways to go, it does help me through the day. When I comes to my writing, I write because I enjoy it. If it makes me a little money, that is icing on the cake, but not the reason for the writing.

It's hard to motivate yourself over and over again. Sometimes, you might need it from someone like moral support.

This happens to me a lot. going for a walk with a friend helps me sometimes. Just choosing one thing to do and getting it done makes me feel better. I belong to an online group where we state our little goals for the day; then we sort of cheer each other on. That group helps me. They understand that we all have these feelings sometimes.

Sometimes we just set a high goal and therefore when we are not there and we feel its not satisfied. Just be happy, life is short, don't ever compare

Auto suggestion works wonders to drive away negative vibes. Always think about your past successes. It will definitely give you a big boost.

Hard work always pays later or sooner. Sometimes you may not get instant results of your hard work, however, this should not make you feel dejected. As one mylotter has suggested, you should count your blessings in life, that will make you feel good and positive. Remember ups and downs are part of life and you have to take it on your stride.

Sometimes a song will give me the push that I need. Right now the song that's been motivating me is Stressed Out by Twenty One Pilots.

Sometimes we go thru tough times and we feel that no matter what we do, things don't get any better. But we should not lose hope and never give up. It takes time and more patience. Always remember that whatever you are going thru.. that too shall pass.

Honestly I watch YouTube videos to help motivate me. They tend to be cheerful aND uplifting. I also put on my favourite music sometimes too.

It happen to each one of us at some point of time. When this happens, just start counting you blessing. Have a positive approach in life, everything has a reason, which you may or may not understand at that time but have a little faith and everything will get sorted.
