My jerky smells so good. The meat pieces look like bacon, in a way. They are about half the length of a regular slice of bacon. They will be ready in the morning.
I am going to be gone tomorrow. I will be going to a concert that my oldest granddaughter is in in the evening. To save driving back and forth so much I will just go with hubby when he goes to work.
In the evening I will be putting together some fruit leather. I am thinking in terms of yummy snacks from home. I have cherries in my freezer. I will add honey and puree and put on trays for pretty red fruit leather.
Are you cooking anything?

I need to find a cheaper meat cut to use to make jerky, what do you use?

I'm not cooking anything right now and actually all I had today was leftovers from dinner out yesterday and some cereal and fruit earlier.

Not today. We had stew last night (technically Monday) but tomorrow a cousin is supposed to be bringing a double batch of one of our favorite meals. I am looking forward to it but may pop out to get some rice as the last time she brought some we didn't have nearly enough rice with it.
Oh, it's pepper steak. One of my favorite savory winter meals.

I never had jerky before. I did have a BLT sandwich with egg salad and pickle chips at the side for lunch.

There is a home industry round here somewhere that produces a range of fruit leathers. Sounds yummy. With snacks like jerky and leather who needs regular meals? Enjoy.

We had a roast cooked in the slow cooker yesterday. Not sure what we will make today. Mike would love homemade jerky. We have a dehydrator and he makes dried fruit but he hasn't tried to make jerky. Have a blessed day

I just made hamburgers for dinner. Fast and easy. My husband and I were out shopping a good part of the day getting stuff for the bathroom he is building in the basement.

Sounds lovely, I had some Chinese pork jerky last night, they spice it sweeter here. Mm....fruit leather, yum! Have fun at your daughter's concert tomorrow, hope she does you proud!
