The Cold Weather Makes Me Drink Less Water

Since the Siberian wind made the weather cold here , I noticed that I drink lesser water . I can always drink a glassful each time I drink , but now it’s only half of the glass . I know , that’s because I don’t sweat in the cold weather . But I do pee a lot though . I am trying to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day , so I just drink half a glass every now and then . What about you guys , does the cold weather makes you drink less water ?

That's the problem of this cold weather - it makes us eat more , but drink less.

@SIMPLYD I once asked the Filipino woman I worked with how cold it got in the Philippines. She told me around 60º F (15.5 º C). I guess if you are use to 32º C most of the time 15.5º C would feel cold.

Yes me too . But i think , it's water that we are required to drink at least 8 glasses everyday , right ? But if all fluid intakes will be counted i know we will be very into it .

@SIMPLYD,I drink water whenever I get thirsty. And every time I get thirsty, I never drink less than two glassfuls. This habit has helped me keep my digestive system in a very good shape.I never compromise with the quantity of water I drink no matter what season it is.

I only drink more than two glassfuls , in the morning upon waking up. That will really make me go to the comfort room in little while .

@else34 That's too much for me to take . Just more than two is enough to make me run to the comfort room after a few minutes of drinking the water upon waking up.

@SIMPLYD I,for one, drink as many as four glasses of water after getting up in the morning.A friend of mine who is a doctor says that's one of the reasons behind my healthy digestive system.

Hi there ! It's nice that you are already here too . I missed you . I can see that you are in the hottest place here in the Philippines . You mean the Siberian wind doesn't reach your place to make it cold at least ? Indeed , when the weather is hot , you can really get to bathe two or 3 times a day .

I think it is natural. I drink water only when I am thirsty as I feel our body should give the indication. Good that you are enjoying cold and windy weather than the hot and humid we get normally in Asia near the equator - siva

I seldom get thirsty when it's cold so that' why my water intake is lesser when it's cold. This cold weather is a big welcome to us in tropical climate . How i wish it's always this was , which is so impossible , since we are near the Equator indeed .

@SIMPLYD The cold weather, due to wind blowing from north, is usually from November to February. So we can expect it to last for another two weeks - siva

I feel the same. When it is cold winter here, I don't want to drink a lot of water because I have to go to the toilet more often and sometimes I will feel colder after that. I know water is important for us. So I have a trick. I will use a big mug so that it can make sure everytime I will drink a lot of water.

And that's natural that when it's cold we tend to drink less . That's because we don't sweat when it's cold . And just like you , i also have a big glass that i fill , and try to drink up always .

I think everyone drinks more water when the weather is warm because we tend to sweat more. It is a good idea to drink at least 8 glasses of water every day.Blessings.

Yes, that is true . And in cold weather since we don't sweat , we drink less and we also bathe sometimes only .

Drink less and eat more , i think that's the natural reaction of our bodies when it's cold. And it's bad to eat more , because we gain weight .

Yes, because I don't sweat as much and so I lose my water slower. Might that be a valid reason?

@SIMPLYD Honestly, I find that eat more in the winter than in the summer. I would think that the body needs more energy to keep warm.

And that's the most valid reason why we eat lesser when it's cold . That' why we should be mindful of our water intake when it's cold.

Lucky you here it is so hot that we have to drink at least ten glasses of water everyday. I usually drink the same amount of water in winter but only warm water.

I always drink more in summer, because we lose water while sweating, I drink less in winter, but I try to drink at least 6 glasses of water every day.

If you drink only 6 glasses a day , won't it make you constipated ? It has that effect on me .

@LadyDuck I think yes because i drink at least 2 small mugs a day . So, i really have to drink lots of water . That's actually what i am thinking so it's what i try to do always .

@SIMPLYD Not at all, this is very strange, I think that it's not the water, because it should help not to get constipated. It mus be something different. Do you drink a lot of tea? This surely causes constipation.

That's why during the cold weather we should see to it that we drink the required number of glasses of water . But i think 6 is already enough , since we don't sweat a lot .

Yes! Me too. In the summer I usually drink water as a way to cool down, and I drink a lot of it. I find myself drinking more hot drinks now - like coffee and tea - just because it's so chilly out!

The cold has actually pissed me off every morning because I needed to sweat to the point that i had to wear winter jacket to start sweating for my exercise. however it doesn't affect much on my eating habits since I am focused on diet for loosing weight.

Yes, just wear jackets and jogging pants so it can battle the cold and will make you sweat . No , sweat , no, glory . Patience and determination is the key . You might also want the before 6 p.m diet .

That's the most thing that we can do - think of drinking water at least a glass every hour to complete the required water intake .

I tend to drink a lot of water all the time (the healthiest thing I do!), but yeah, i will drink more when it is hot.
