A lady who works for Goodwill found an envelope of money while going through donated books.
She was concerned someone was needing that money, she turned it into her manager.
It has been more than a month and the money still has not been claimed.
After 120 days if not claimed the money will go into the Goodwill revenue stream.
Their policy is to reward their employees for their honesty and integrity.
This lady will more than likely receive 10% which means for her about $1,000.
Honesty does Pay....

I personally think she should get more than that for being so honest and doing the right thing.

@LovingMyBabies I believe that is their policy to only give up to 10%.

At least half maybe, for sure she needs it more than the establishment but she was honest enough to declare finding it.

Yeah same. 10% really isn't that much...but at least she got something.

Can you imagine not missing that amount of money. It may be was put in the book by a now deceased relative and the person making the donation never knew about it.

I guess I can understand as it did come from something donated to the Goodwill but I think they could give her more. I found a $100 bill at the hotel in the hallway and turned it in to my supervisor. Five days later it was not claimed and I got it. The hotel didn't take a cut.

@irishidid To bad this company does not work that way and she will only receive a percentage.

Maybe that lady was already expecting about the reward.

If she was expecting a reward then why even turn in the money, why not just keep it and say nothing.

Maybe the books can be traced back to the donor. How do you clain money you don´t know where you lost it?

@marguicha If you had that much money in an envelope don't you know where you put it, I know I sure would.

@Marcyaz If I had that much money, I´d have it in the Bank, not laying around. So I guess this is not a normal situation.

@marguicha
I would have my money someplace other than an envelope inside a book.

That's a very honest person. Integrity should always be present so we can always do the right thing even nobody is looking around.

In the UK found money or property unclaimed after a few months and reported to the police can go to the person finding it - there is no obligation on the owner offering a reward for returned goods - many would offer something as a thank you reward though. I know I would

@arthurchappel If she found it in the UK she could have kept it all.

Dishonesty would have paid more...if she would have just slipped the envelope in her pocket, she'd be $10,000 richer right now! lol
Before you start yelling at me, I think she did the right thing. Honesty does pay, and I think she will be rewarded with more blessings than just the 10% she'll get of the money.
Good thing she didn't keep all the money herself...karma's a bich! (spelled wrong on purpose! lol)

@moffittjc She could have kept the money and not said anything to anyone but then like you said there is Karma. Now everyone will know what an honest person she is.

@Marcyaz It's too bad she only got a 10% reward though. I think they should have split the money with her. But either way, I'm sure it really made her day!

I agree with you but I am sure whatever amount they give her will be fine with her as it is something extra in her pocket.
