Is Being Meticulous A Part of Aging ?

I noticed that I am becoming meticulous.
The moment I arrived home from work , I wash my hands .
Then , when I go to our bedroom , I would first sweep the floor no matter how tired I am , and I am still in my uniform .
Specially washing the hands , I do it always . After sometime of typing in my laptop at the office , when I go to the comfort room I would wash my hands thoroughly .
Once I arrived at the office , I would wash my hand because I handed down my fare .
I wasn’t like this before .
So now , the veins in my hands have become bigger and protruding already .
Can it be because I am aging so I am becoming meticulous ? Are you too ?

I have noticed that I have become a bit more like that my friend.
It could be a little to do with age, but not entirely.
I feel for me, it is that I am now settled in one place and can take more care of things than I used to always running from place to place.
As far as aged looking hands, well I love my long fingers but not those brown spots lolz
Yes the veins do protrude more with age my friend.
I always wash in hot water then rinse in cold to give them a shock and put lotion on to soothe..look much younger hands.

@SIMPLYD I am not sure why, but it feels good to do so. My hands never had protruding veins until I got older. Welcome rebel.

I don't think being meticulous is part of aging because I observed my 2nd son, he's very meticulous ever since I knew him. Maybe, what you did is, you don't want to feel dirty, you want to be always clean and being clean, you are comfortable, right? And avoid washing hands after a hard work or office work, just wait for few hours.

@SIMPLYD
He is already 27 years old now and as I've observed him before even in his high school days, he wants everything like his things in proper order, his room to be clean always but he is a boy, as we know, boys is not really particular in doing this.

Well for me, I guess it has to do with your upbringing. If you are raised my your parents, mom or dad, siblings - you kind of carry it with you. My mom was a nurse and she has this an obsessive-compulsive behavior. She has this one rule: whatever you are using/getting, return to where you got them. I always got scolded because I am the organised messy one in the house. LOL.

I am just like your mom , though i am not a nurse . I want everything in its proper place always . Things should be always returned where they are kept .
So you didn't take it after her meticulousness ?

Not me! I find that I don't do as much as I did when I was younger.

I always check up on the door time and again until make sure I have locked it before I go to bed .Sometimes I doubt if I have suffered from obsessive-compulsive neurosis that stems from the stresses and strains of life .

Aging makes us like that , because i also am like that , and specially my husband . He would check every door and windows before going to bed . And when we go out of the check , he would really make sure every that those outlets of some appliances not in use , plugged out .

@SIMPLYD It is always best to err on the side of caution, because we aren't young and have seen a great deal .

Good for you , you wash it as it is needed because you handle foods and drinks . Unlike me , who washes every now and then because i got the feeling that it is dirty .
What about the veins in your hands , don't they protrude like mine as a result of frequent washing ?

I think you want to have everything in order- clean and in place. My sister is like that and she is 67 years old now. I believe she is becoming OCD, and I tell her to take things in stride and don't overdo it.

@SIMPLYD well, we are just looking at things in the worm's eye view now, my lady. If before we see them in a bird's eye view, now, we see the minutest of things.

So you too . At least i am not alone on this .
Basing on the comments i can now happily conclude that it doesn't come with aging at all .
I guess , it just strikes some people .

Not sure, my mom is 73, I call it OCD with her, she cleans the same things over and over. Even with locking her car, she will walk around it check all 4 doors, then go back check it again , make sure it is locked. I think some things come with age. I don't look forward to some of it.

I wash my hands often too because of the constant flu that's been pretty common around here. Meticulousness is a good thing to have regardless of age!

@Ladypeace I think , somebody here of my age has told me her veins on her hands are not bulging and visible .
I will research on how to naturally remedy it . Though someone say to raise up my hands for a few seconds and it will make my veins smaller , and it really did , but only for a few seconds though .

@SIMPLYD Bulging veins is a natural process of aging and quite troubling. Please take care of yourself with natural remedies, massage etc.
