Do You Like the Month of Your Birthday?

Sharon @simone10 mentioned she loved her March birthday because Spring arrived during that month in Memphis, TN. I responded that I always loved my birthday month of May but for different reasons at different times of my life. While living in the Midwest as an adult raising a family I knew by the time my birthday rolled around it was definitely spring and there were be no more frosts, snow or bitter cold. May was the most delightful month ever! I reveled in the warmth. When I was a child I loved May for my birthday because of the presents. Every year I got new summer clothes for my birthday! It was always just before summer vacation started and I also asked for and received new swimsuits too. Then there were summer sandals, summer toys and the latest records etc. It fell 1/3 of the year away from Christmas and 1/3 of the time away from new school clothes and shoes and supplies. I always was just ready for the new seasons when present giving time was upon us. My sisters born in late October and late December had a long wait from Christmas to September and then before Janet in October was ready it was birthday time but she didn't need fall clothes already. Patty had it the worst, Christmas Eve and everything came at once. She had as many gifts but not the full attention of being a birthday girl when we were all busy getting ready to host or attend a huge family Christmas Eve party that we had annually. I also like being a Gemini! What is special about your birthday month? Do you love it or hate it?

I am also a Gemini and was born in June. This is a good month because it is the middle of summer.

@Asylum I'm a tiger! Roar! I definitely have Gemini traits, it's almost mind boggling. I didn't mention my older sister who also has a May birthday (because the benefits were the same) but she is a Taurus and a true one. We are born 5 days apart and COMPLETELY different in temperament, both of us like our respective zodiac characteristics. It makes me a believer in them for sure.

I was born in January, and it isn't the best tme of year, but I am fine with it, as I can't do anyting about it anyway. I can't change it, so I might as well accept it.

@Jeanniemaries I never thought of that, but you are right I hate the weather round my birthday, as when I lived in Indiana, we always seemed to get a blizzard. This year on my birthday, it was a very ice and sunny day, and not to cold.

I always thought the January kids had a jump on everyone else! They always seemed to be the leaders.

@Jeanniemaries Happy birthday to your niece and (almost) to your sister. The previous girlfriend of my husband was born on the 29th of February. It seems he specifically appreciated Pisces.

I've never really thought about it. I was born in December, exactly 3 weeks before Christmas. I neither love nor hate it.

My mother was born in December, the 13th, the day of St. Lucy. My birthday is next week. I do not hate, but it's not the best time, my birthday is always during Lent.

My son is the 12th of Dec and he has never said much one way or the other. I used to wait to put up Christmas decorations until after his party. My mom's is the 15th and I used to wish it wasn't because I had so many gifts to buy with three sisters, a best friend and two parents. It was an added expense and we earned every bit of our Christmas gift giving money! Not just allowance but odd jobs as well.

I love my month of August, I'm a Leo. Perhaps that's why I like it hot. I look forward to August because by then Ally(pup) and I will be having a ball playing water sports.

Really! It's awesome to spend time in the water when it's so hot! August and Feb are my two least favorite months of the year because one is too hot for me and one is too cold!

My birthday is in July. I don't like the heat of July, but do love the fact that you can book time off of work easily and enjoy a few days away to celebrate it. And its the same month as Canada Day, and I am very proud of my heritage, it suits me to share my birthday month with the country itself I think.

@Jeanniemaries That's pretty cool! Yes, it was a special gift having my daughter on my birthday. For many years, I really didn't celebrate my birthday much because we were always celebrating hers which was a lot more fun.

@simone10 That's where I'm at, because I usually spend my birthday with my daughter whose son has his the day before mine. We eat at the restaurants he chooses and have the cake he likes etc. I'm all about that because I've certainly had my day! When I stay in Florida my sister and I share our day.

Oh no way!! Yes, It's really hard to celebrate two entirely different things on the same day. My sister and I once flew to California in May to visit our other sister. She planned events for all of us to do on our birthday for us and unbeknownst to her we held a surprise half year birthday party for her! It had a great turnout and lot's of wonderful gifts. We didn't know who her friends were and so we asked the ladies at her church to spread the word....she was very embarrassed about it, but loved the party and the biggest surprise of her life.

I like my birthday in July as it's almost midway through the year. I have a few friends with birthdays very close to Christmas and they don't like it one bit. My Mum's birthday was in February and often the first day of school after our long summer break so she didn't like that.

It's true, I just always felt lucky to be born in May rather than other months. I chose to be married in March and in California March is a nice warm month but not in the Midwest! It was always, always cold!
