Got embarrassed again

I was at the credit union putting money into my account, and since there was a new teller, she had never seen me, so she asked for my pictture ID.
The funny thing of it was, I had it on me in the front of my wallet, yet I was looking through it trying to find it.
When I saw it, I realized I was looking inside for it when it was outside. The tellers and I had a good laugh about it, but I still wanted to go hide somewhere.
Have you ever had one of those days, where you ended up getting embarrassed, when really you shouldn't have been?
I am sure I will remember what happened today, as the next time I go in there, I will be reminded of what I did;
I guess I am really good at getting embarrassed about things. Makes me wonder why I didnt stay home and put the covers over my head.

Once they get to know me, by name then they don't, but since this was a new teller, she didn't. The others there, did know me though. I don't mind showing my drivers license though, as it is no big deal, and she will get to know me in time.

@jaboUK .....In or out they always ask for ID at my bank. They even tried to call me one day when a friend was putting money in my account. I am sure they want to be sure all is correct all round.

@jaboUK I recently deposited money a month ago and was asked what is my employment? It wasn't even none of their business but according to her - it's a question that pops up on their screen.

@rebelann I think so too, The rest of the tellers know who I am, as when I walk in, they say hi and call me by my name. I think that is so nice that they do that too, as it makes me feel so special, that they really know me, and value me as a member. That is the way it really should be.

Think of it this way--Can you imagine how boring it must be for those tellers to stand there all day long? Probably only get short breaks depending on how busy it is. Then a customer comes in (you) who is a little silly and probably makes their day taking them out of the doldrums and giving them a little entertainment. They probably wish you would come in again soon and do something silly again. We are all only humans after all and when we can learn to laugh at ourselves we will get a lot more out of life.

@celticeagle I put money in their again today, but one of the other tellers that knows me took care of me, so I didn't have to show my ID that time.

I was at a pharmacy and bought a few items and the cashier said "would like a candle with that"? So I asked why would I want a candle? She repeated "would like a bag with a handle"?

Now, that is so funny. It is great when we can laugh at ourself, as I did the other day at the credit union. It was so funny, though, as I was looking right at it, and yet was looking through my wallet to find it. Such a silly thing for sure.

Many things can be embarrassing in life. I'm sure I had a similar experience recently at work, but since I've just had three days off, I don't remember right now. That's like when people that wear glasses have them on the top of their head but are looking everywhere for them. We all do funky stuff that's probably what helps to make our life interesting.

@MarshaMusselman Oops, another mistake. I guess I did so much today, that I just keep making silly mistakes. I hope to do better tomorrow, after I have had a good night's rest.

No, that isn't it at all, as it was a new teller, and she had never seen me before, and now that she has got to know me, she doesn't ask for it anyumore. I was not concerned about it at all, as I know they have rules, and I will live by them.

@birjudanak It doesn't bother me that they want to see m photo ID in order to help me. I don't have to owrry now, tough, as whenever I go in there now, they all know me, and I don't have to worry about showing my ID.

That is what happened to me, as my id was right in front of me, and I was staring at it, yet kept looking for it. I think I had my mind on ohter thingss, and just didn't keep my mind on what I was doing. It was something that I really laughed about though, and I will always remember that day for sure.

@silvermist Yea, that could be too, but that is okay, as I am forgetful at times. It sucks getting old, but being forgetful is part of it, so I will just deal with it the best way I can.

It seems like I have been doing silly things lately. I get embarrassed so easily when I do those silly things too. I will just have to stop doing silly things so as not to get embarrassed.

Every bank is differetn, but now that I have been there awhile, they all know me now, and I don't have to show my ID unless a new teller is there that I have not seen before, and she hasn't seen me either. I don't mind giving my ID though, as it is a great credit union, and I love it as they are so friendsly, and they care about all their members.

I am rather perplexed at why she required ID in the first place. This would seem reasonable to withdraw money, but makes no sense if you are paying money in.
Are they afraid that someone may sneak in and put money into someone else's account?

I am not sure why they do it, other than if they don't know a person, they need to make sure they are who they say they are. When I was with US bank, they did it there too, so I am used to it, and I don't mind showing my ID, as once they all get to know me, I don't have to do that anymore. She had never seen me before, and I had nevedr seen her either, but once she gets to know me, then she will be able to call me by name as well.
