Most times it's a male. You only seem to get into goddesses when you venture into the pagan realm. Or listen to the song "God is a Girl" which is fun.

@Pose123 In that case you are saying that 'reality' can substitute for god in this example.

@Pose123 You are absolutely correct. This in Hinduism called 'Aham Brahmasmi' meaning 'I am Brahman(God). The human being is the smallest manifestation of the Almighty. Why the human being is the smallest manifestation? It is because we do not have that power and understnd to treat everybody alike. But, God never shows any discrimination betseen rich and the poor, literate and Illiterate, Good and bad, He shloes mercy on both Good and Bad people. This quality is totally lacking in humanity. Therefore, we are not capable of attaining high rank in the field of divinity and we remain only as the smallest manifestation of the God. Iris is the Greek Goddess of Railbow.

God is a spirit and is neither male nor female, though he possesses both characteristics and is mostly spoken in the male gender as man was created first and is given headship in a Christian household.

There are many Gods and Goddesses in every religion and in every civilization. In Hinduism, there are many Goddesses also like Kali, Durga, Annapurna, Chamundi .etc..Similarly, there are female Goddesses in Christianity Like Mary, Anna etc. In Islam they got Mariam...Every civilization (Egyptian, Sumerian, Inca, Aztec, Nile etc) there are many male and female deities. There are many local and regional Gods also. This Gender discrimination is existing from the beginning. Aphrodite is the Goddess of love and fertility, Artimis is the goddess of hunt, Athena, the Goddess of War in Greek. Ceres (Roman) the Goddess of Agriculture, Demeter is the Goddess of harvest in Greek civilization, Eos is the sunny nature of goddess in Greek, Inanna is the Goddess of love in Sumerian civilization and the list becomes endless.
