The medical field is rough.

I am a hands off aid at my job at a nursing home facility. Today my second resident passed away in less than a week from each other. I love my residents so much, and get to form a unique connection with each and every one. With my guy who went home to heaven today, we used to make silly faces to each other and make moose ears on our heads with our fingers. He didn't speak due to a stroke a few years ago. But that was how we communicated. Seeing his family today was hard. They were so sad and there was nothing i could do to help fix it. It is hard to watch my residents go, but i guess it is better to not see them suffer anymore. I just hope i get to see them someday when I go home to be with Jesus. I hope they are there too. And that is the agony. The sadness of not knowing whether they will be there waiting for me

I am sorry for you and the family. I can imagine how hard it could be to lose your residents like that. You are very strong. I will keep you and the family in my prayers.

Not everyone feels the way you do as many just do their duty and that's it. You have a kind heart

I think i will not opt to work in a nursing home facility because I am an emotional person, once I created a personal connection then it would be hard to let go. It is sad to see people passed away and see their family members cry but like you said its better that way. Because now thry can finally rest from their suffering in this world.

I don't want to sound callous but I guess this is going to happen pretty often in a nursing home. Every time we went to visit my mother in her nursing home there'd be another familiar face missing. The staff must really feel it.
