I do not know why I am writing this, but yes I am away from home since 5 years for higher studies, job, earnings and all. After all these years when I speak with my mom and dad , which i did just few moments back, I feel like they have grown old now and may be they need support. They have always supported me in my decisions and they have trust in me. But my mom knew that I am an emotional person too. she is still scared for me , that I might be alone or hurt somehow. I am thinking of taking a break from job for a week and go and meet them.
We come so far from our home ,for higher studies and to fulfill our dreams, when we left our old parents and their dreams behind , we never realize.
I just want to hug both of them and tell them that I am always there for them , no matter where I am and how I am.. I think I am getting too much emotional and even tears are rolling down my cheeks...

I am just curious--how old are "our old parents"--in their 60s, 70s, 80s?,

When one is far away from parents for a considerable period of time, it is natural for him/her to miss parents because there is no one like parents in this world. Parents are the best well wishers and they always want their child to grow and rise in his career. They make lots of sacrifices for it, which sometimes their children do not even realize.
If you are missing them, it is better to make a short visit to your home, so that you could see them and could spend some quality time with them.

definitely , I am going to do that. Thanks for understanding my situation. I too believe that when parents make sacrifices for us and can give us unconditional love , we should be in a position to at least give them certain happiness and joy.

@Shayani - Yes, you must not forget to reciprocate their love. When you go and spend time with them, they will shower you with their countless blessings.

When i was away in the beginning I would cry every time they phoned me, I was always emotional. You will grow out of it. The longer the time away the easier it gets but I always made a huge effort to visit them yearly. I couldn't live in the same area but i made sure I got home for a good visit every year. Chin up and let them know you love them.

there is internet, mobile phones, skype, or telegrams to communicate with your family. Good luck!
