Nearly Full Moon Through A Haze Of Stratus Clouds

Tonight when I went to feed the front door cats I noticed the almost full moon shining through a haze of stratus clouds and thought it might make a good picture. I don't really have the lens I need to get the shot I'd really like, but I do what I can with what I have. I've already started hinting to my wife that I wouldn't mind getting a telephoto lens for my birthday this summer. I took the picture using the wireless adapter on the camera and my cell phone as the remote so that I wouldn't cause the camera to move any when I snapped the shutter. I have only practiced with this once before, so I know I need to keep working at it. I hope you enjoy the picture.

I have noticed the almost full moon last night, it was very bright, this is a good photo. I hope that your wife will buy you a telephoto lens.

More than likely, she and my sons will do what they did at Christmas in regards to the camera and team up to give me gift cards so I can pick out the lens I prefer.

I love taking pictures of the full moon etc. We had a full moon 3 days in a row and they were beautiful but i did not get to snap any good pictures

Yesterday I took several shots of the storm clouds hoping to get one as the lightning flashed. I never managed that, but I'm hoping I got some good shots of the storm clouds scudding across the sky.

I have tried taking photos of the moon and I can tell you it isn't easy to get a decent image! How the professionals do it is beyond me but I suppose they can afford top-of-the-range fancy cameras which work out all the parameters for them.

I took some photos of the moon out during the day when it was just past first quarter. Those came out rather nicely. One was even accepted on Pixabay.

It came out very well. I'm a moon lover and have especially enjoyed taking so-so photos with my iPad, especially when it glistens on the water. My son bought a telephoto lens, especially for taking ice skating videos of his kids. It paid for itself, since the professional videos are so expensive.
