Is Neerja overhyped movie?

I saw movie Neerja today,unlike the great review going around from critics and people too, I found it to be quite mediocre, leaving apart the sensibilities associated with it .
With due respect to Neerja Bahnot, I am just considering the movie and sharing my views on it. The movie had a dull first half with not much happening and nothing noteworthy. Technically below par.
The best part of the movie for me was Shabana Azmi's performance and sorry to say but Sonam Kapoor for me was a big let down.
Overall a one time watch but nothing extraordinary and yes it has its emotional moments and thats it.

I haven't saw the movie yet and i think i am going to pass. The only reason i was looking forward to see this movie is Shabana Azmi, i am her fan sinch i have watched her parrallel cinima movie "Mandi"... and you may remember her splendid performance in "Godmother"

@mk Surely Shabana ji had done amazing performance in this movie...the way she has depecited herself in emotional scenes made lot of people cry in theaters. She has always been a splendid actress and I remember her most for remarkable performance in movie makdi where she was a witch.
Coming to the movie, I will again like to say that on emotional front, it has great value as it has power to make you cry, but if you go expecting a tight thriller and want to see it from a political point of view, there is nothing much to explore...you may watch it as a respect for a courageous girl who lost her life saving people for no fault of hers.

I am not familiar with Indian films as they don't reach mainstream America. I only know Indian actors if they do English language films.

@avi256 Leonardo is a lock to win the Oscar. it would be a shock if he does not. You see many Aishwarya Rai Bachan movies?

@JohnRoberts nowadays I see kangana Ranaut and Deepika Padkone movies...coming back to Leanardo, there is not anything left he needs to prove to bag Oscar, I have been his huge fan since Titanic....wish he bags it this year.
