WARNING: TRIGGER TOPIC (RAPE/SEXUAL ABUSE)
While there have been leaps and bounds in the progress of women's rights and protection, our society is still failing us. Now, I'm not going to go on a huge rant, though it deserves one, but I'd like for everyone to get a little of idea of what's going on here.
Kesha has been abused, verbally and sexually. And is still expected to produce music for her abuser. She doesn't even want her abuser to face jail time, she just doesn't want to work for him anymore. And the fact that our government gets to decided whether a woman was raped or not is truly disgusting.
The fact that Chris Brown brutally assaulted Rhianna and has blossomed his music career, while a rape victim is forced to continue a business relationship with her abuser is absolutely absurd.
I'm not sure why. But rape seems to be one of the only crimes where the victim is constantly and intensely doubted. You don't ask what the victim was wearing when someone breaks into their home. You don't ask if the victim was drinking when they were stabbed and mugged on the street. You don't ask if the victim has a sexual history when they're assaulted in a hate crime, so why is this the case with rape and sexual assault? Rape is rape. And consent is consent.
How do you feel on this subject? Do you think we will see a change in what's happening to Kesha?

I would hope someone would get to the bottom of that one.
