In case you are new at myLot...some general information....

For those newbies here is some information that might be helpful. It has to do with earnings. I am taking this information straight out of the Guidelines, so it's available for one an all to read.
While hopefully no one thinks they will get rich here (which won't happen by the way) earning pennies is fun on top of the fun of 'chatting' with new and old friends. Sharing tips and tricks, fun times and sad times, lending a shoulder to cry on and congratulating the accomplishments of others is why we are really here. The pennies are just a bonus!
The key to earning isn't a secret - the key is interacting. If you post a discussion and disappear for the day without responding to comments then you are not interacting.
Here is how you earn at myLot -
Participate! Any time you start a discussion, respond to a discussion, or comment in a discussion, you are making a contribution that is eligible for earnings.
How much you can earn -
This all depends on how interesting and valuable the myLot community considers it. The more that other myLot users interact with what you post, the more money it will make. If no one reads what you wrote, interacts with it, or otherwise considers it interesting, then you likely won't earn anything.
Have fun!

Well said! If everyone lends a hand in helping the newer Lotters then we will all benefit - them and us!

@AbbyGreenhill Yes and they bring new topics and new ideas too. It would get stale here if no-one new ever joined.

@mysdianait New members are shy and even hesitant to get involved with other people's discussions. I have noticed it in many new ones I interacted with. Also they aren't much aware of how it works here. Not everyone goes through the guidelines. We should help them otherwise they would lose interest and leave. It has happened.

It can be difficult to estimate what kind of result will be achieved by a given amount of effort, but without doubt if we do not interact properly them it becomes a waste of time. Of course without interacting the site would hold no interest for us anyway.

And without the wise words that you offer it would also be boring.

@pgntwo Unfortunately we have no control over things like that - but it if gets enough comments and likes it could wind up on the hot or top rated category then more people would see it.

@AbbyGreenhill It will help, but this type of post should be one that is visible for longer than the average post for it to be effective.

That is the issue that so many never think about. In order to earn money in here, it does take participation. No you can't get rich here, but you can have fun.

I am hoping that by you posting this discussion, that the newbies coming in will understand what mylot is all about and interact with others who take the time to interact with them. I have seen some post discusions, and leave them, and not go back, and when I see that, I just move on, as I know I would be wasting my time even reading it and responding. I think this discussion was very weill written, and should help those that have questions about mylot.

Good job at telling how it works. What I don't understand is why newbies follow us when they have no discussions to show what they are like. I will never follow anyone until I know how they write, what they write and if they will read and comment on my discussions. Its a two way street, stop by and say hi before looking friends.

They do it because they don't know how the site works. I am picky about who I follow/read/etc.

Is my lot a window to earn , may be some newcomers like me may think in that line. After sometime it becomes clear that my lot is out and out a social platform through which one can discuss many things known or unknown, come in contact with people all over the world and get to know and exchange views. This site actually caters not to the money making fellows but to knowledge seeking persons. I like to call this site as " Knowledge Bank "

You are absolutely correct this is a 'social' site where you interact and have fun and on top of that make a few pennies. It is not a get rich quick site.
