Balancing Rocks for Beach Art

Here is another in the series of articles on beach art that I have been publishing this week.
Yesterday, I showed a photo of an artist carefully balancing some rocks so he could photograph them.
Here is a photo of the rock he was working on when I walked up to him. It is the letter "L" and he very carefully set it up. He told me that he was going to write out the word "Love" and then take a photo of his creation with the ocean breaking behind it.
As you could see in my photo from the past few days, it is pretty amazing to watch this man work!

I watched him do it and I even showed another photo, yesterday, of him patiently doing it. Even though I watched, I was still amazed. What an amazing talent he has!

@wiLLmaH - I watched him do it, and I still don't know how he can balance the stones like that!

Yes, and a really good eye to spot the rocks he needs.

He's turning it into a mini Easter Island

I should have stayed longer to watch him finish, but each letter took so much time and patience.

I love what you are sharing. While wandering down the trail by the river last summer I found one that was so delicate I wondered how much time it took. It stayed up the whole two weeks we camped, no one camped on the site so no one but us knew it was there.

@DeborahDiane It truly is easier than it looks if you get the chance, try it.

@PainsOnSlate - You have inspired me. I am at the beach several times a week. Next time I am there, I will have to try balancing rocks, too!

The man spent at least 10 minutes just getting that one letter to balance. It amazed me!

@DeborahDiane I have also seen the people that can make a sculpture out of wood with a chain saw, that is noisy but cool as well.

The beach artist was about my age, so I suspect that he gets a pension or Social Security. This is a fun way to supplement his income, though!

The man was very slow and careful. He must have spent at least 10 minutes just getting that one letter to balance!
