Very true. The palm civet cat eats the coffee beans, the beans get fermented in their digestive system, and they poop it out. And yes, these are cleaned before it's sold in the market. Maybe it's because of the process and the fact that the palm civet is not a common animal that's why the coffee from them is expensive.

@Nicz31 It's not really rare but I'm not sure if the palm civet is endemic in the Philippines. I haven't tried the coffee, though. I haven't gotten into buying one. First it's kinda expensive and second I believe I'd have to go to Tagaytay (Cavite) to buy them.

Yes it s true as you woul.d know if you looked it up and I imaginehe cost is to cover having to clean the cat poop off the excreted beans and having just ate lunch my
tummy is churning a bit shades of civet poop? ugh.no JI would never drink coffee that came from cat poop

I did not have any information Civet Coffee or how the beans have been processed, thanks to all the comments to your post that I came to know about it and wont ever try to taste it in my life. :)
