~I Don't Need A Break From Them~

My Babies

Yesterday we had a friend stop by. We hung out at the house for hours and the kids played together. Then she asked me if I wanted to go to Dollar Tree with her. I said okay, I needed a few things from there anyway. My husband said y'all go and leave the kids here with me. As we were driving back home she says thanks for coming with me, I'm sure you needed a break from the kids anyway. I told her actually I never want a break from them. She said I love my kids but I don't know how your with your kids 24/7. I LOVE spending every moment I can with my children-as all of you already know.

It is nice though when you can get a little break and just hang out with a friend for a bit.

I can certainly understand that, as they grow up way to fast, and will be out of the house soon enough, so yea, you would definitely wa t go spend as much time as you can with your kids.

@LovingMyBabies I can understand that, as when y ids were little, I felt the same way. Now, they are grown up and have kids of their own, so time has really gone fast, that is for sure.

Spending every moment you can with your children is an admirable trait. I had four kids and being a single mom there were times when I treasured a small break from the responsibilites

Some mother's even when their children got holiday, they will like sending them elsewhere to spend their holiday instead of staying with them at homehome. I don't really know the reason they got married, maybe just for them to have fun always with their husband without kids!!!

I can understand how you feel. I love my kids too, and do enjoy spending time with them. Although I'm not going to lie, it is nice sometimes to have some time away from them.

The fact that you enjoy being with them will have a positive effect on them long-term. Love is bigger than anything one can lean in a psychology class.

@paigea I worked outside of the home for a little bit and I hated it just because I was away from my children.

I used to think that it was somehow "bad" to need a break. It's not. We all need a little time to take care of ourselves as well. Spending lots of time with the kiddos is a good thing, but there's nothing wrong with having some time to yourself either.

@Lady_Justice I don't think there is anything wrong with that, I just don't feel the need for it for myself. I spend every moment with my children and I truly enjoy it.

Your children are sooo darling... I felt guilty enough for working full time when my kids were young there was no way I'd take a break from them at any chance I could be with them...

I can understand that :D I also get why some parents need the odd break now and again as it can get exhausting but I think motherly love gives you all the energy you need :D

@gudheart For some people a break is necessary I guess but I have never wanted to be away from my children. I miss my kids like crazy when I am away from them.
