Musing on Life and Death

Try as we might certain realities are beyond our ken, and looks like they will be forever. Everyone should wonder about life and death; after being here we don’t want to leave more due to the fear of the unknown. We have a fixed lease but the period is not revealed to us. As my departed friend used to say when our number is called just leave, no two ways about it!
Who sent us here and decided where we find ourselves in, then sort of swim in swirling waters without respite? We have to keep running for survival. We come alone, leave alone, hopefully for a better destination. But this place is a wonder beyond what we give credit for – the minuses are of our making. The environment is beauty and variety beyond comprehension and the inner knowing is hardly delved into lost as we are in imbibing what we see and hear.
Death will come eventually to all. Life is to be celebrated and death too after an eventful life when our body withers away with the years taking their toll. I find some of my friends have left for, hopefully, better pastures filling sorrow especially in their life partners. Our life should benefit others and the creative process while death should be just bidding a final goodbye with a yearning to meet later. Birth and death happens all the time but we worry about them as anxiety is our constant companion.
What are your thoughts on this eternal reality?

I understand that is the reality.
When I think of those who are gone they transmit a message that they are alright and it is for me too to complete the journey here first, they will wait for me. Let us live our moments here and then later - siva

I am not into thinking about those things actually . That's because i see to it that i act according to the 10 Commandments of God and live life to he fullest always , so that i can leave this earth happily with no emotional baggage to my love ones.

I try to keep those I've lost alive by carrying bits of them with me in my character, principles, thoughts, words and actions. I hope that when my time comes, others will keep my spirit alive in the same way. Somewhere out there already is a child or two who would not have learned to play music had they not met me. And maybe a few young adults (former college students of mine) who will work with disadvantaged children. These thoughts alleviate my anxiety ever so slightly.

Thank for your thoughts. That is what few I knew were thinking too but have passed on since. I think of them often when I see their lives reflected in others who were inspired by them. I think of my relatives, friends, who left their indelible mark in me and even those whose lifestyles I do not want to follow.
I ponder about the path I take often and see whether I can do a better job as a co-creator. I remember what I heard over fifty years ago when I was in school - each can do but little, but if each does that little, all will be done - siva

Someone once said.live like there is God because even if it turns out there isn't you will have nothing to loose but when you live like there is no God and then it turns out there is you will have everything to loose

I read a simple analogy recently that describes perfectly my feelings about eternity. A patient questioned his doctor about eternity and what it might be like. As he spoke, the door to the exam room burst open and the physicians dog burst through the door, ecstatic to join his master. The doctor said,"you see, he had no idea what it was like on the other side of that door, but he knew his master was there and that's all that mattered." My Master will greet me when I leave this world, so I know all will be well.

A poignant analogy. Our creator knows how to chart our path. I believe He is in his creations and so within us too.
Many believe too that our dear ones are waiting for us across the "shore". We do our best to benefit the creative process and leave the rest to destiny - siva
