~He Is Not Being Replaced-But We Adopted Her~

Our dog that ran away is not being replaced, we keep praying we will get him back again. But my husband saw on CL an ad about these dogs that were going to die the next morning. It broke his heart so he told me about it. Of course I couldn't stand hearing that so we went to the shelter. So...Jules is the new addition in our family. The only problem is she came home with kennel cough so she is on medicine. With that issue we have to keep both of our dogs separate. We don't want our other dog getting her illness so that part has been tough. Jules is a black lab mix. She is super sweet and loving and we couldn't possibly let her be put down! She doesn't deserve that at all.

That is why I will give food etc to the no kill shelters. It is not the fault of the animal that they ened up in a shelter.

Good for you! I love a lab, we've never had a black lab, only yellow ones, but they are so family-friendly and such a good companion for young children. I hope that the cough gets better soon.

I have to agree that more of theses dogs cats and just pets no matter who they are need to be adopted if at all possible their true gems.

she is very pretty. My husband would never tell me about anything like that because I would want to bring all of the dogs home.

@whiteream Thank you. =) Yeah it was hard only saving one but we just couldn't adopt more than that because we can't afford to take care of more than one.

@LovingMyBabies I know that feeling when I got my dogs, it was very hard only being able to take just her. I wanted badly to save more than just her. But, we do what we can, and pray for the rest.

She looks a lot like my sons dog Bones. He was also gotten from a shelter. He was thin and skittish of humans. Today he is an energetic loving dog.

@fishtiger58 Aw. =) She was very skittish when we first got her too. She was shaking in the shelter badly, and she shook when we got home too. It took her a couple days to warm up to us. Now she is very happy. =)

@LovingMyBabies Wonderful to hear, now to get rid of that cough and you can be one big happy family. Here is a picture of Bones but he never stops moving so I didn't get a great shot of him. He is chasing a light on the floor. It was funny and he had a ball.

Dogs and cats are like humans. They deserved a life. I hope she gets really cozy and have her cough healed.

I am like you I hate to hear that a dog will be put down if someone doesn't adopt it. Kennel cough clears up pretty quickly with medicine. I am still hoping you will find your other dog.

@LovingMyBabies I had a dog one time who had the kennel cough and it cleared up in no time at all with the medication I was giving here so hope yours will be okay soon and hope Fatty Bear is back in no time at all.
