Unbelievable! But, folks, it is true! Out of 100 Latino voters 45 voted for Donald Trump in the Nevada Caucus. This is a slap on the faces of the two Cuban-American GOP candidates - Sen. Rubio and Cruz. How do you explain this, fellow myLoters from the good U.S.A.?

The negative news and comments I've been reading about Trump made me think no one will ever vote for him so this news confused me. How come?

@salonga it is because the GOP establishment people hate him. He is an outsider. But I believe most Americans are angry with the government.

@ElizabethWallace I think the GOP establishment wants Lil' Rubio to be their nomine and next prez of the USA . . . He is young and small . . . one that they could easily manipulate. They could not do that to Big Trump!

People are angry. He is angry. They identify with that. They do not really listen to what he says.

I think it is all a ruse dreamt up by Trump and his friends the Clintons. I think (and hope) that he will drop out at the last minute.

No, sorry, wrong. 45% of REPUBLICAN Latinos voted for Trump. Democrat Latinos are not that ... sorry, I was going to say something rude. By the way, Latinos come in all sorts of varieties. They do not all think or vote alike. Voting for someone other than Rubio and Cruz just shows good sense, although I cannot explain why they voted for Trump.

@ElizabethWallace Well, Rubio and Cruz are Cuban-americans . . . Most of the latinos in the U.S.A., I believe, are from South America - - mostly from Mexico. I would think it may be different if one of them a Mexican-American.

@antonbunot I have a problem with hyphenated designations of citizenship. We are all Americans, or not. Our ancestors may have come from somewhere else, but there are no hyphenated designations listed in the Constitution. People do not necessarily vote according to where there ancestors, or parents, were born.

We are not supposed to vote based upon race, gender or color of skin but on who we think will make the best leader. It is a slap in the face of any candidate for a voter to vote based on that criteria. That is racist and sexist. The economy and jobs are the number one concern in America and perhaps Latinos believe Trump is the best person to combat that issue.

I am not an American . . am Canadian. I like your comment. Americans are angry . . they want an outsider like Trump to be their next president.

Or maybe they like his hair. Just kidding. I have no idea why anyone would vote for someone who has said many of the things that I have heard come out of his mouth. But, I agree with what you said before your last sentence.

@ElizabethWallace You know what? I could apply what you said to just about every candidate on both sides and certainly the current occupant in the White House.

Maybe it has something to do with him use to be owning Miss Universe. That event is like the Superbowl for Latinos. Seeing their girls always winning or dominating that contest makes them love Trump.... You have no idea how much they take Miss Universe seriously.

He is the one who shouts louder, all the angry people think that he can help them. Anyway it seems that he obtained 45% of votes, white, Latinos and all others together.

I can not explain why Latinos would support a racist who wants to build a wall between the US and Mexico? Can you explain that?

@paigea . . I don't agree with everything that Donald Trump is doing and saying . . but I think he is not a racist. He is not talking about Mexicans in general . . he is talking about illegal Mexicans. Most Latinos, who immigrated to the USA legally, are not very happy because companies are hiring illegals (low wages) instead of them. I believe that is the primary reason why they voted for Donald Trump.
