Do you prefer watching shows and series online or on TV?

What is your preference? Have you adapted and become accustomed to using the internet as a means of entertainment? Will the internet kill our TV habits?

It's funny you should ask that. The internet HAS killed my t.v. habits. I am more prone to watching videos on youtube, or using my kindle to read. Not all of internet's advancements are bad. Obviously we need to be careful with our eyes etc, but it does open up a whole new world. As far as the entertainment of television, atleast online you can watch a wide array of things that you can't necessarily get in your home country. Oh but to answer your question simply : I watch netflix when I am at the kitchen table doing other tasks online,.

But you can stream Netflix to a big screen TV as opposed to a small computer screen. Same for YouTube.

TV is good for watching together, as a computer has only a small screen and can't be seen by many at a time

Netflix user here Cable is too much money for what they show and I like to watch my shows in order. There are a few shows I do miss from cable but now enough to pay the extra $40 to have cable and watch them.

We have Sky tv, via satellite but it costs £60 per month and I think this is far too high. However my husband likes to watch international cricket which can only be seen there

@Auntylou I know exactly what you mean I wish I could afford to spare the extra money but for me its not possible. I swear they do it purposely charge you so much for so little its a scam

For me the television has always been the way to watch a show. Even if I find a show online that I wish to watch, I will download it and watch it on the television at a later time.

I rarely watch regular TV. I cannot sit down at the times the shows are on live. I watch shows on Hulu Plus, Youtube, and Netflix. I have a Roku 4, and enjoy it.

@Auntylou Roku 4 is a streaming box. It is the way I get Netflix and Hulu Plus and any of the other streaming channels. How do you get streaming channels?

I have to say I much prefer Netflix to TV only because of the commercials. There are still a couple shows I watch on television, but that is a far cry from what it was when I was a kid to just a few years ago when TV was my life. Yes, I believe the Internet will kill our TV habits. It has mine. Also with Netflix I can watch on my time, not the network's.

I get ideas of what to watch through tv but more often than not I watch things through the internet. I think in the future most of what we watch will be internet based rather than through the tv. Things like netflix and amazon prime tv will just get bigger in my opinion. TV channels are too based in countries and in the future I think that will change. Internet channels are world wide and I think that's the future,

@Mike197602 I have cancelled my membership and got most of the £79 back! I do sometimes buy from Amazon, but found that the free postage was not available on several things i ordered

@Auntylou I doubt I'd get prime unless I started ordering things from amazon so could take advantage of the free postage. As I don't do that at the moment the £79 per year would be a waste for me as most of what I want to watch I can do so for free.
