I Hate Debit Cards/Bank Accounts.

Call me old fashioned but I truely hate bank accounts and debit cards. I wish they never existed. I would go cancel mine but you need them for everything nowadays it's ridiculous. I always spend money way more easily with my debit then with cash. Why can't we just go back to getting cash and cheques? Then we wouldn't have all these fees to deal with.

In fact I like debit cards, credit cards etc. Here we also can pay by smartphones. All of the modern payment methods are developing very fast here and it is quite convenient. I don't like carrying a lot of cash since it is dangerous and inconvenient. As to checks, here usually it is for business usage.

i agree with you on this. al though plastics are not that needed here in our country but paying cash is fast and convenient. with cards, you have to deal with credit ratings, bank fees, and all that.

I make sure I don't pay any fees. I have taken flights with my Airmiles points that I earn from my credit card so I am happy using my credit card and not cash.

Maybe it depends on which banks. I like using visa debit card (no maintaining balance required) as carrying big amount of cash in the Philippines is risky. I only pay annual fee around $7. I hate credit cards and I can't maintain a savings/current/checking account (with required maintaining balance).

I do not mind cash, but cheque is high cost for me. When they send in one cheque book, I have to pay $10. They will deduct the money directly from my bank account. I rather have credit card. At least I do not have to pay a high cost to use it.

I think this is where the world of advances in technology is taking us;simplicity as far as monetary transactions are concerned with corresponding increase in costs. In my case even withdrawing money from my savings account attracts a service fee charge and even for my online bank transaction,am always charged a commission.
