It seems like there’s a lot of erotica writers on Twitter

I have a Twitter account that’s mainly for my writing. I try to follow interesting authors. Since I write mostly science fiction, those are the kinds of authors I look for. Hopefully they, or some of their readers/followers will check out my work. But I don’t discriminate what kinds of writers I follow, I also follow fantasy, horror, romance authors, etc. And if some writer starts following me, I follow back. Somewhere along the line, I also started following some erotica writers. And lately it seems that every day there are new erotica writers that are following me. It’s even gotten to the point that when Twitter suggests people for me to follow, there’s a good chance that their erotica writers. How many erotica writers are there, and why do so many want to follow me on Twitter?
