Too Young To Be ... Old

Today ... Skip and I were laughing, talking. I was thinking how youthful we are ... though we are older. Of course, we act our age, too. We can't help but, to. Our bodies have been through numerous surgeries, illnesses, cancer ... wrecks, many heartaches ... just all kinds of things. We have all these pains you wouldn't believe ... we can hardly believe. We have to believe because we feel them. We laugh, talk with everyone we see ... doesn't matter what age they are ... we can blend. We are just discovering ... we are supposed to be ... old. We still forget ... as long as we are wise enough for our age ... and still enjoy being ourselves ... I think it's okay. Don't you? My opinion is that we are too young to be ... old!

Yes, that is how I feel ... though I know my thoughts are 'older' ... I don't let that get in the way of being 'young' at heart.

No one can stop the power of the mind. As long as you enjoy what you do , then do not limit yourself because they say you are too old to do that. Because I see old people deteriorate because they stop doing what they love to do just because people say that they cant.

That's so true. And they just give up because they think 'they are too old' to do anything, give up. You are right.

I think its wonderful that you can blend. I see some older people living alone and no one to visit them very often and it is sad. So you and Skip keep on keeping on like you are. God gave us life to live!

Age is just a number and our mind don't care if our body is already at age, it thinks that we are still able and young.

Totally agree with you. for me age is just a number and something that should not limit us from doing the things that we like to do. all though we have experienced plenty of pains in life it's also important to count all of the happy experiences that we've had and those experiences should be remembered more. happy mylotting :)

I am in 30 but depression and anxiety makes me feel tired. And I feel older than my age. So I am not worried about old age at all. i guess nature will help me not to reach old age hopefully.

I wouldn't comment on your comment if I didn't know depression, anxiety because I feel if someone hasn't 'walked in one's shoes' to know how something feels ... it's better not to say anything. I think in my life I've walked many roads ... mostly the roads of grief, pain. I have to say I understand from all I've suffered in my life. I won't tell you what you need to do ... we are all different. I will tell you I care, I felt your words in my Heart. I hope you can smile one smile for me.

When I was a child, I always heard the suitor of my elder sister : Only carabaos grow old. He said this because he was 20 years older than my sister. When one gets older, body metabolism also gets slower, but heart and brain remain young. It is only the body that gets older. That is why, it is true that age is just a figure hehe.

Now, that makes so much sense! That's 'why' people are 'young' at 100 years old!

I'm thankful I'm not an 'old fart' ... someone who complains, whines, cries ... I know they have a lot to whine, cry, complain ... I really do, also, in all seriousness ... but, I can't let it control my life. I have to stay strong.

@paigea They just blended right in with life .... gracefully. I love it. That's what I am trying to do, also. Right now, I'm not 'old' ... but, I am going toward ... being. :)

@GrannyGee Yes all we can do is age gracefully (cheerfully as possible) and be glad for the opportunity to age. My parents and another couple were great role models for me. As each new age related challenge presented itself, they dealt with it.

I think its because only the body gets old, the physical attributes of the person. but our heart stays young forever ;)

You can not be old if you want. The age is relative and it depends on you to be old.
