OK I have a serious question!!! We had a recent scare with my husband's teeth he got a major infection that went all the way up the right side of his face to his eye and I KNOW we need to get the rest of his teeth out ASAP,we are pretty poor so I was thinking about trying the crowdfunding thing again to get up the money to get them out..now I have never had much luck at all when it comes to raise money.... So my question is if you were going to donate to someone would you rather just donate the money to a crowdfunding site like with GoFundMe or would you rather buy a shirt like Booster.com? or would you rather cut out the middle man all together and donate the money to the persons Paypal? (if you click on the picture you will see the whole thing)

A woman who wants to have a Liposuction A newly wed who wants a honeymoon A pornstar who wants a vacation A woman who wants to have a brand new playstation 4 Managed to get funded by a Gofundme campaign, I think you can do it too. Medical Assistance can easily succeed in Gofundme if you have a good presentation and the amount of money you ask is attainable. Make sure your campaign have a video so you can show the potential donors that the situation is real. Videos works better than pictures. If You will go with Booster, try to make T.shirt designs that people will want to wear. Indiegogo is another good crowdfunder but you have to reward people there with perks.

@Ruby_Dawn You have to give them perks. For example at the Indiegogo Crowdfunding of the video game skullgirls, The game developer give free merchandise to the donors who donated a hundred dollar. The bigger the money the more special the perks is. Gofundme became popular because you dont need to give the donor perks.

@CaptAlbertWhisker ahh alright I see what you mean. do you think if I wrote a blog with a video about my situation and a donation button for paypal it would work like gofundme? Because the thing about crowdfunding sites that most of the people who donate to them don't know is they take a percentage of the donations

GoFundMe and IndieGogo both are good. if you can payback people in some way like T-Shirt or cap or some thank you greeting shipped. That would definitely be appreciated on these sites. It all depends on traffic on your funding page though. that changes the scene.

Yeah that is why I was thinking about doing the booster one because you create a T-shirt that people buy :) but I am also thinking about doing a blog instead or maybe also because for the people who want to just donate then it would be easier for them to do so through paypal

@Ruby_Dawn Check out how aaroncollin's brother did the crowdfunding. Now his brother does the youtube videos of he paying 500$ tip to watier or waitress in random hotels. His crowdfunding was to get some funds to pay 100 such people. he reached the target. have to be a little creative here. if your crowdfunding helps more people then that would create even more positive effect. and this helps you and others too.
