Suddendeath Poetry Challenge Chocolaty Words!

February 27, 2016 9:30am CST
Welcome to this weekend's Suddendeath poetry challenge, chocolaty words. Rules are as follows, write a poem in any style using the five words that I give you. (I had a good suggestion to ask people to bold those words for others to see, so if you want, go for it.). Write it in one sitting or in under an hour (only to quash your inner editor, rules are loose there). Add it here, OR link in a comment so we can enjoy each other’s. The words can be in any plurality or tense. Today’s words are: sweet, dark, bitter, eat, chips, (and indulge . Yes, that makes 6, you don’t have to use that last one, I couldn’t not toss it in). My entry is as follows: ---------------------------------------- Chocolate, Life, or Simply a Hand of Cards? Sweet the temptation, drawing attention. Dark the consequences, in its creation. Bitter the quandary, choices be weighed. Eating away at the options, decisions need made. Chips to be gambled, to win or to lose. Indulging or sacrifice, which will you choose?

I know when I eat chocolate chips, They sadly just go to my hips, The dark sort that's bitter May make me feel fitter, I'd prefer to indulge in sweet dips.

Well, let me try: The sweet taste of the cream on the top of my dark coffee The bitter taste in my mouth after eating a slice of lemon chips of of ice fallen from the roof that I watch indulging a piece of cake. It's a nonsense, I know.

You noticed, lol. I thought you of all people might ask me that. Good question. I thought too obvious! Rather like the water challenge where the word "water" did not exist.

Sweet dark bitter chips eat indulge The dark mysterious stranger smiled sweetly, "Let's run away together discreetly" "Let the chips fall which way they may" "Come with me, what would you say?" "The sweetest tongue hides the sharpest teeth". A bitter soul lies like a sword sheethed. Don't eat the fruit of indulgence, Or it will fill your heart with despondence.

@Jessicalynnt lol ya I end up using sweet twice.. but then I guess there's no limit on usage as long as you use it once.

@Drosophila honestly all the rules can be flexed, more guidelines than rules, and so yes, yes you can
