Chinese hand swinging exercise

There is a simple exercise that claims to cure many ailments, including cancer. The exercise is basically to swing your hands. After every 5 swings, you bend your knee. I think the fundamentals of the exercise is to bring blood circulation to all parts of the body.

Well this is the best thing I have seen in a long time. I am going to do this everyday, I will add it to my tai chi that I do sometimes. I am not sure if I spell it right, but I do my own moves along with isometrics.. I am so happy to learn this and have subscribe to channel thank you scheng.

This is definitely a very easy exercise to do. The video has English translation, and I think it is clear and simple enough to follow. I think after a week of doing such exercise, you can start a discussion to share your experience. I have done it just a few times, and I never did complete 30 minutes. I guess I am just too impatient.

No idea. I think you just have to try for a few minutes everyday or as the Youtube video suggests, up to 30 mins every day. There is no harm trying, since it is free of charge, and you can do it in your room.

I am glad I stumbled upon your discussion from another. This looks great, very do able, no equipment and perfect in the winter when I do not want to go outdoors. I cannot wait to get started.

The recommendation is to do it 30 minutes. I have not been successful in this. I give up after 5 to 10 minutes after I feel tired!

In fact every morning I saw the elders will do some exercises outdoor. They have different exercises groups in my opinion. Some will dance, some will practise with the "paper fan" and some will do some exercises. I think no matter what, doing some exercises will not be harm. As to wehter it can cure cancer, I have a doubt to it.

@scheng1 If one day when I was retired, I may be even busier since I hae many interests. I think I will spend a long time painting since nobody will bother me at that time

Over here, the elders are doing the same thing. I wish that I can just retire, and join them in the exercises too. I think that is a way to make friends, enrich our lives, and live a long and healthy life.

Seriously interesting! I do believe in qi (or chi?) - so there's gotta be something to this. This exercise looks vaguely familiar to an exercise I was taught as a child (it was a routine we did my language school - Japanese) - ohh, I'll have to research this one as they say there are many benefits in doing it!

You might as well try for a week, and see if you experience any health benefit! I think this is part of the qi concept.

I never did complete 30 minutes! After a few minutes, I feel good, and so I stop. If you have tried for more than 5 minutes, I think you will feel good from the improved blood circulation too.

I bend my knees and swing my arms and hands a lot when I am walking for 30 minutes each day.

It is different when you do the exercise. When you are walking, you are not conscious of the hand swinging, but when you are doing this exercise, you are conscious of the hand swinging.

haha, the hard part is to remember to bend your knees every 5 swings. I always lose count so I bend as and when I feel like it.
